Posted in the Mullen thread, but thought it might be relevant here: My brother graduated with a guy who works in UF's press dept and Corral is allegedly down with Merlins and is sticking with his commitment.

I actually heard some chatter that Florida was expecting him to leave.

ETA
This was before they hired Mullen

Corral doesnt fit Mullen's scheme. He probably has the athleticism of Fromm. Can run a few times, but you cant build an offense around him.

Mullen had a full class built already in Starkville. It will be interesting to see if he tries to get his QB, Jaylen Mayden 4* DUAL TX, to go to Gainesville. That could push Corral out.

AmericusDawg- What are you hearing on Cade Mays? I noticed he has received several CB's to Clemson since his visit. Just curious if there is any need to be worried about him, or if he is still solid toward us.

Brenton Cox warming up to the Dawgs, per DN:

quote:

He still plans to enroll early in January. But he now plans official visits to Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State.

Cox was supposed to be at Alabama for an unofficial visit last week. He chose to visit UGA instead. Was there anything to that trip to Athens?

“I don’t know,” Cox said. “I can’t even really say that right now. There is something to it, though. I like the people at Georgia. It is going to be my decision at the end of the day whether I go to Georgia or Ohio State. But right now, it is still Ohio State.”

The first follow-up question was to clarify whether Alabama was still in the mix for Cox. “It is still Alabama in there, too,” Cox said.

The rest of that conversation is going to give a lot of hope for DawgNation when it comes to Cox. He now plans to give the Bulldogs an official visit, too.

We know for sure that Tennessee isn't helping their case to bring him back...

Granted, I'm not Americus, but I think a few pages ago we discussed that most if not all of the Clemson CBs were from the usual suspects who shotgun the predictions whenever they get a kid on campus.

This is the smartest thing I have ever heard a recruit say,

On does a win on Saturday matter.

“It won’t really matter,” Cox said. “Because that’s not the group that I am going to be playing with. I am going to be playing with the younger group. It will matter more to me what the younger guys can do in the future.”

Some impressive negative recruiting/shite talk from Urban and his boys to have him believing

A. He is a sure fire top 5 pick if he goes to OSU
B. He will fall to the second round if he comes to Georgia

We got negative recruited hard all offseason, and it is backfiring wonderfully now. The pitch against UGA all spring and summer was that Kirby had never won or developed players. Whoops.

I don't blame anyone for taking that tactic. I'm sure Kirby and the boys will employ similar pitches against all of our new neighbors.
