Agreed, but how were the coaches supposed to know that Chubb and Michel would decide to stay for their senior year. It sounds like they kept in good communication with Carter and he had the chance to come here in the summer but we couldn't fit him into our EE numbers. Hopefully Texas is still interested in him and he can EE there. I will always root for him wherever he decides to go, he seems like a great kid.

Yeah IDK what options UGA had, but this just isn't going to play well in the media

Yup. Losing Carter is the least of the negatives on this one. This hurts. Bad.

The upside is getting to keep both RBs for next year, but maybe we can spin this to lock down Zamir White for 2018.

Not a great look for us

Can't be helped. Nobody expected Chubb and Michel to come back. I figured we would lose one of our RB commits. This should help us next year with Zamir White, though.

Definitely not a great look. We talked Carter out of an OV to a Texas earlier this month and he said he was 100% committed to UGA. We ended up screwing the kid over, but hopefully he'll end up at a place that fits him well (think Texas is a great spot for him).

Too bad we haven't gone full Bama yet and processed someone like Shaun McGee or Shakenneth Williams

Damn, sucks because he was so committed to being a Dawg. He's gonna be a good one, best of luck to the kid.

The bigger issue IMO is that he still wanted to come here. If he saw Chubb and Michel were coming back and didn't want the competition or something that's one thing. He still wanted to be a Dawg after we'd promised him an EE spot. That is a bad look.

So someone explain the EE rule that's keeping UGA from giving him a spot?

On a possible bright side, this tells me we must be counting on Gibbs coming (I believe he too is an EE)

Interesting tweet from Radi Nabulsi:

This is just a stupid friggin rule that penalizes a kid from going where he wants to go on a technicality.

Just to put it out of my mind, we have a 0% shot at Akers, right?

Ya I'm not sure who instilled that we ever had a shot at Akers but we don't. Dude is most likely headed to FSU from what I have read.

Supposedly a target of ours is making a commitment video early this week, possibly today.

Even if we did drop Carter for Akers id be pissed. Sure Akers is better but here's a kid who wanted to be a Dawg 100%, and you drop him for another EE RB?

That would be like throwing gas on the fire
