Ask Denver (and New England, for that matter).

I tend to agree. I mean two of the biggest names in college football in recent years were/are Watson and Cam newton. But for the most part, they don't win National Championships. We scream we want Bama success, but I don't remember any of their QBs being Dual Threa. AND, we have to remember, that mobile QB and Dual Threat QB can be two different things. Murray was a mobile QB. Kirby very well could mean he wants a QB that can break out of the pocket if needed, and not necessarily one that becomes another ball carrier.
I guess we will have to wait and see what his definition of mobile QB is.

Jameis Winston ring a bell?Good God the only reason Clemson sniffed the national
championship was because of Deshaun Watson.Clemson had ZERO returning starters
on their O-line this year. You actually think Clemson comes close to being a top 10 team
with Jake Coker at QB? You think Bama is winning national champioships because of it's
QB play?
Bama wins because they freakin recruit better than everybody else and run off players
who can't hack it.We don't have the luxury of sticking a care taker QB in and letting
the rest of the talent on the field take care of itself.Sorry,UGA will never recruit like Bama
or put the investment in FB that Bama's administration does.

Or the three at OSU a the year before.

Jameis Winston
Was more of a pocket passer imo. He could get out of the way of the rush, but I don't really consider him dual threat or mobile. Hell I believe his 40 time was something like 4.8-4.9.

Outside of Bama, here are the QBs that have won or appeared in national championships since 2005:
Vince Young (DT) - won
Matt Leinart
Chris Leak - won
Troy Smith (could run)
Matt Flynn - won
Todd Boeckman
Tim Tebow (DT) - won
Sam Bradford
Colt McCoy (DT)
Cam Newton (DT) - won
Darron Thomas (DT)
Jordan Jefferson (DT)
Everett Golson (could run)
Jameis Winston (could run) - won
Nick Marshall (DT)
Cardale Jones (could run) - won
Marcus Mariota (DT)
Deshaun Watson (DT)
Just kind of putting to bed running quarterbacks don't play or win National Championships. I'm not saying they would necessarily be effective in our scheme, but they definitely can be effective overall.

Agree with your point overall. However, I'd put Cardale in the "could run" category. He was more of a pocket passer who used his "could run" skill-set as an asset in the passing game.

The ideal QB is one who can avoid the rush and run for a few yards when he needs to, but primarily wins games with his arm from the pocket. I don't ever want to see Georgia build an offense around a QB's legs. Too much injury risk.
ETA: Perhaps the real risk isn't injury, but the running QB taking so many hits throughout the season and being noticeably worn down by the end of the season, like Dak Prescott was in 2014.

Yeah, agree with that. He definitely isn't nearly as much of a dual threat as Miller or Barrett.

Cardale is a bulldozer type of a runner with one of the most powerful arms in all of football. A slower, not as good version of Cam. Miller can fly but can't throw. His NFL future is as a WR. Barrett is somewhere in the middle and is the best QB of the three by far.
Is there any news on Robinson?

As far as we know, he's set to visit this weekend. May or may not visit Bama. Notre Dame is still the choice at this point so this visit will need to be a home run.

Heard Catalina and family were very impressed with UGA

A family member(I assume his dad) tweeted a pic of him cheesing in the red&black. Looked like a big guy..could be a really nice late addition if he picks the good guys. It would be nice to add size and experience to the OL group.

Jameis Winston ring a bell?
Yes, he does. In 2013 he ran for 193 yards. In 2014 he ran for 65 yards. I would hardly call that a dual threat QB. Mobile? yes. But not a running QB.

Which is why I mentioned him?

You mean...the QB that actually WON the National Championship?
Name me some QBs that are legitimate Dual Threats that have won. I bet I can name you more that have won that are NOT Dual Threats. Everybody likes the Dual Threats because they are exciting. I get that. But they don't really win that many Championships.
