I'd rather lose recruits to Tennessee than a program that has the ability to be a threat.

This WR thing is now a full fledged trend though. We need to get a stud for Eason, and I think Godwin is the closest thing we have in 2015/2016 (so far).

Does anyone know if he has been on campus recently? Don't think it bodes well that he is citing his relationships with coaches after being on UT campus twice in the last month and a half

He's probably been to UGA 10 times this summer. I don't know who gets him, but declaring defeat over an article that says nothing seems a little absurd.

Don't come at me with logic. I saw the first 12 words of an article and I am reacting with force.

Only we can have a full on melt before we lose a recruit.

I've never seen such a bunch of women in all my life. We are having one of the best recruiting cycles in years and we are sitting around wringing our hands and fretting. Reminds me of the Auburn recruiting board.

Keep the offense on the field with running backs, tight ends and slot receivers then bring in the fresh no. 1 D in the country to destroy mufuggers. Who needs good receivers? Every once in awhile let Eason air it out a a wide open receiver all alone in the back field cause we never throw it deep.

I have no inside information but I would bet money on KD picking Georgia. Davis is way too smart to commit to a bad program. People who freak out over a speculative report need professional help.

I have a hard time believing Kyle Davis will commit somewhere other than Georgia.

Haven't seen anyone freak out about it here. If you think my comment was someone freaking out, read it again. Bottom line he's trending on the recruiting boards to UT/AU. He'll be a big loss "IF" we lose him(mainly cause he's an instate 5*) but KD won't make or break our WR class...

I could see him going to Tennessee, honestly. they DO seem to pull in a lot of good receivers. But, I won't melt down if he does, and even if I was going to melt I would wait until it happened and not based on a story written by a writer trying to bait people into buying a subscription to a service, get clicks to a web site or just get people to read his stuff.

Not you. You had one of the more reasonable, sane posts on the subject.

I don't think anyone has freaked out. It would suck to lose him and he seemed like close to a sure thing at one point, but I can't think of a single receiver (or player, for that matter) who has gone somewhere else and caused us hell for 3-4 years. At least in recent memory.

However - all other things equal, I would rather him play in red and black

You bring up an excellent point Dallas. In years past, losing an instate 5* player was looked at as devastating. In the current state, we have such an amazing group of prospects, we can afford to lose someone like Davis. For the record, I hope he commits to the Dawgs, he’s going to be a great player. HOWEVER, a WR doesn’t make or break a class. We had AJ Green and went 6-7. We’ll be fine either way. We need to stack up on defense!

Still a long way until October, when he commits. His comments were pretty cryptic, hard to tell. Our analysts continue to hear from people close to him that he's leaning UGA, I think that bodes well. Once Rusty, Jake, and Kipp flip their CB picks then I'll say he's gone. Granted, other analysts think their teams lead. We'll see how it plays out.

Well, he already 'committed' to South Carolina, so there is precedent. Regardless, I ain't worried - if he goes to the Vols, so be it. Would love to have him, but we're just fine regardless.
