Next up Nick Buchanan. Has decommitted for Cal and is down to UGA and Florida. He seems like a backup plan for a backup plan at UGA. It's a game of musical chairs at this point.

At this point UT may have to pull an offer from a current commit to get room for Richmond.
Hopefully it is from that kid who dressed like a giant orange when Richt to meet with him.

UT has gone 23 23 32 enrollees the past 3 cycles with 10 EE this year.
My point is I don't believe they can fit Allen at this point even if he were a priority which he likely isn't now.

Allen is pretty heavily leaning back towards the Dawgs regardless. We'll likely land Allen, Buchanan, McGraw, and Smith tomorrow, perhaps Choates, as well. We just have to hang on to Godwin, Baker, and Slayton and we'll have a really great incoming class.

Another note on Carson that makes me a little sad. He keeps talking about using Oklahoma state as a vehicle to get him to the league which is sad. If he wants to help his family out he should focus on his academics at a great school AND play to have a shot at the NFL. I just don't understand these kids perspectives sometimes. What's more likely, you help your family as a running back or get great grades, hold down a decent job and help your family out? Not saying the NFL won't happen but a degree is something that can never be taken from him. Not to mention a UGA degree which goes a pretty long way in the southeast

Even if all he ever makes is a practice squad, that's still about ~$250k/yr for at least a few seasons. If a kid wants to get a worthwhile degree, he can find that at any school he attends. If all he wants is a piece of paper and the chance to play football then he can find that anywhere, too.
I can see how he might think he'd have a better chance at getting drafted out of OSU, simply because he's probably going to ride behind Chubb and Michel at UGA. He'll have a much better chance of starting and showcasing his talent at OSU.

I read the article about Carson. Seems like a great kid. Good luck to him. I hope he gets a degree and a way to lead his family to better times. That's a big burden for an 18 year old kid to bear.

It really bothers me when people trash kids like Carson, or his decision. He's a JUCO, and will likely be third string or worse for the next two years which is pretty much his entire college career. If I'm him, I probably go to OSU as well because I could actually play from a depth standpoint.

I haven't seen anyone trash him, just irritation that he flipped so late. Coaches probably should have gotten a better handle on his mindset before we offered. It sounds like he wanted to come in somewhere with a good chance to be a starter this year or next, do great things right away and turn pro. Wasn't hard to predict that he'd waver when he realized that UGA wasn't his best option on a two year plan.

Sounds like he's in a bad situation financially. I can't fault him if he feels like he'll have a better shot at the NFL at OSU.

Jake Rowe just CB'd Buchanon to UF

On the radio this morning they said that the day after Christmas last year his family's house burned down and they have been living in hotels since. Got to feel for the kid and can't blame him at all, but it was just very odd that he "ends his recruitment and officially commits to UGA" on Sunday and then flips the very next day.

He said something strange about everyone being UGA fans in this state and he just wants to go somewhere different.

He prolly gone...

I get the feeling that he wasn't sure how much UGA wanted him. We were juggling several potential OL and Buchannan probably felt a little unappreciated. It's tough for a HS kid to understand that most schools would have done the same thing if they were in that situation.

I'm Indifferent about whether we get Buchanon or not. I don't see him ever starting over Isaiah Wynn, Dyshon Sims, Jake Edwards, Sam Madden, Sage Hardin, Pat Allen if we get him, or DeVondre Seymour if he ever gets to campus. Not to mention big Ben and whoever else we bring in next year.

With 25 players committed and 64 scholarship players on roster, Ohio State is now 4 players beyond the 85 man limit. I guess tOSU fans can delete oversigning.com from their favorites list.

Because most people from Atlanta aren't from Georgia (or at least it feels that way).
