Imo Crowder will be a WR eventually

What gets me is that some on here can't believe that a kid would want to go somewhere else and that we screwed the pooch when we lose/never get someone. Sometimes kids just don't want to go to a certain school.

I need to win the lottery so I can become the new bagman. Someone sucks at their job

That flexibility may be why he was offered a scholarship. We've lost a receiver and a running back, and Crowder could potentially provide depth at either position. From what I read, he played receiver up until 2014, then switched to RB and gained 1700 yards on the season.
I wasn't super impressed with his agility, but I read an article that said he was 6'3", 230 by the end of the year. Guys that big generally can't cut on a dime. Hopefully he can learn to run with better pad level and use his strength. Otherwise, he'll be a receiver.

So this is about the time yearly where I get into recruiting. We have a promising day tomorrow?

The perfect comparison for Tae Crowder coming out of high school is Vic Beasley when he graduated from Adairsville High School.
Not a big time recruit then found his spot as a speed rusher at DE. Very similar bodies but Crowder is a little bit bigger. Both were stud running backs in high school.

It's either going to be really awesome or it's going to suck a big ol' bag of dicks. We'll see.

I recommend you come back in a couple of days. If Slayton flips today we'll have a chorus of trolls cursing Richt and teenage boys whining in high pitched voices.

Ya'll are funny. Unfortunately, UGA will never play for an NFL Super Bowl. It's been proven with a high rate of consistency teams with elite recruiting classes win championships. A lot of players peak in their mid 20's (NFL age). The teams that win in college get the players who are physically capable during their college years.
Keep grasping for straws and embracing the mediocrity if that's what helps you sleep at night.

This has been covered ad nauseam, but the reason there are more two star players at the highest levels of football than five star players is because of how many more players are assigned a two star vs. assigned a five star. It's an extreme difference in total number so of course there will be more two stars succeeding.
If I got to pick a basketball team from every woman in america and you got to pick a team from the 8 guys that live on your block, my team would almost definitely win. Obviously this doesn't mean women are better than men at basketball.
The recruiting services aren't a perfect science and get plenty wrong, but on average five star players are a lot better than two star players.
With all that long winded crap of mine, I'm glad we got the guy we did to replace Carson, I think he can be a solid contributor.

Every team has fillers though. Even almighty Bama takes 3 stars. If we finish strong we'll have a top five class. If we don't we'll sit in the top ten.

I am not as concerned about our ranking as I am getting talent and depth where we need it. Once we start missing on the best talent, we best make sure we at least have the depth. Too many years we had scholarships unused.
We for sure need at least 1 difference making WR. We have some depth at RB. Surely we can pull in somebody better than Douglas to add to that. The defensive pickups look good.

With Richmond decommitting for OM and seemingly UT bound one would think that limits Pat Allen's options. At this point UT may have to pull an offer from a current commit to get room for Richmond.
