hmmmm..... interesting...

quote:

Avery Sebastian was a 4-star safety who signed with Cal out of Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy. Sebastian (then “Avery Walls”) was rated as the state’s No. 11 overall prospect by Rivals in his class.

This weekend, Sebastian announced that he has decided to leave Cal and play next season at another school as a grad student. He earned his degree in Sociology from Cal this month, and will be immediately eligible to play next season.

quote:

“UGA? That would be nice to play there, being that my parents live near there,” Sebastian said. “UGA is close to home, and I know they need some defensive backs. I know a lot of people that go to school there, and they’ve had a great football program over the years. That would definitely be a school I’d consider.”

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound is known for his physical style of play (as evidence by his highlight tape below). He was an honorable mention on the All-Pac-12 team for special teams in 2012, but has been hindered by injuries the last two seasons. He played in seven games this season, registering 21 tackles and an interception.

So an undersized safety who couldn't stay on the field at Cal? No thanks imo

Give me bodies, man. Our secondary may as well adopt the old Soviet methodology and just throw people at the problem and win through attrition. Don't give our back ups a helmet, let them grab one off of the line before them when they go in.

I'd much rather take a 3* freshman body who could be developed into a good player than a mediocre one year rental.

If he only has one year to play, the SEC will not allow his transfer. Must have at least 2 like Coker at Bama.

If he has experience and can provide quality depth fast, then I say take him. At the very least, he's a quality special teams player. We're going to be young on defense and I'm down for anyone with the ability to grow a beard coming in to help.

Eason is #1 overall in Rivals latest rankings...

ETA: I don't post in this thread often...just realized it's specifically 2015, so feel free to blast me. I'll try not to do it again

I mean, I'll take it...

Cleveland dropped to 20, but is still a 5 star and Manac is 48. Our 2016 class is off to a great start and has the chance to be even better than this year.

Adonis Thomas to visit UGA
LINK

Ex-Florida ILB recruit Adonis Thomas (AJC) It may be a long shot, but UGA will at least get a shot at Adonis Thomas, the 4-star inside linebacker from Central Gwinnett High School. Thomas, who is rated as the state’s No. 19 overall prospect and de-committed from Florida shortly before Will Muschamp was fired, has agreed to take an official visit to UGA this weekend.

That article makes it sound like it would be a huge upset to wrestle him away from Alabama. Sucks - we could definitely use him.
