Please don't...just let this shite die...its a sad day in the Dawgnation when our fans fight over the merits and drawbacks of the Pac-12. Football season is getting close so folks are getting chippy.

Do we take another TE in this class now?
Posted on 6/17/14 at 7:40 pm to AmericusDawg
Probably not. Hopefully 2 in 2016. I think we should take another OL now
Posted on 6/17/14 at 7:44 pm to Crowknowsbest
We should always take more on the OL.....every year.

Thank you Americus and Crow for returning us to the regularly scheduled programming.

5/11 of your offense are linemen. Richt has under recruited this position for years. Later ill dig up the last 5 years of those stats comparing richt and saban that i posted months ago.
Off the top of my head remember saban was around 38% of recruits were linemen (o or d) and richt around 30% but without the stats in front of me dont quote me on that.

Richt has under recruited this position for years yet UGA have had and will continue to have one of the best offenses in the conference.

Always makes you think where we'd be if we had a solid o-line and a good defense.

If our defense haven't been so bad, the offense would have been on the field a lot more resulting in more points. This action plan will be implemented this fall under Pruitt

Really impressed with Pruitt, he's doing & saying all the right things about recruiting, defensive philosophy, team goals & the future...

I want at least 5, 6 would be better. When you really look at what we'll have left after this next season, it is kind of scary.

It's not really any more scary than usual. We'll have Theus, Pyke, and probably Kublanow as returning starters. Houston will likely get another year if he wants it. Then we'll have Wynn, Edwards, Debell, Cardiello, and Long as interior options. Other options at tackle will be Sims, Baker, and Seymour as a JUCO.
Then add whoever else we bring in. It won't be the best OL in the world but it's not really scary.

Scary might be overstating it, but it isn't good. I like our starters, but some of those names you mentioned are part of the reason I'm scared.
If I could just process guys all willy nilly and fill the hole in this next class, I'd be fine with getting rid of Debell, Long, Ward, and Bynum. I wouldn't lose a lot of sleep if we were to include Dantzler, Houston, and Cardiello in that either. When you realize that I basically count those guys outside of Houston and Card as non-existent, since that's how they play, you realize why the chart doesn't look so good to me. Houston is a crap shoot, he is like Dallas Lee, either going to look near NFL-ready or "why is that guy on a football field?" bad. Card still has a chance to show me something, but I don't think he will.
However, I am a huge fan of Kubs, Pyke, Wynn, Sims, Theus (though he hasn't developed much), Edwards and Baker. We got lots of potential, just still need to clear out some guys that'll never really do anything for us.

I would keep Bynum because he have time to put on good weight and strength and become really good. Cardiello will be our next center IMO.

Houston struggled last year, but people forget that he hadn't play in a full 3 years at the time. He also had a bunch of bad weight after trying to bulk up in a hurry after all his dieting and surgeries were ultimately successful. I don't think he's all-SEC or anything but he can be a solid player for us. He's also versatile.
I feel ok about something like:
LT: Theus / Sims
LG: Wynn / Edwards
C: Kublanow / Cardiello
RG: Pyke / Long
RT: Houston / Baker or Seymour
