Wow. Sounds like the guy has a nose for the ball and some serious playmaking ability. Awesome.

What would you expect him to say?

I know you said you hadn't been collegiately recruited, but have you been head-hunted? Even if not, hypothetically if several firms were vying for your services, what would you be saying if someone asked who you were going to go with? Or better yet, what would you be THINKING?

What I would say publicly to reporters and what I would think in my head are two different things.

Something along the lines of "I'm going to go who I feel the most comfortable with and where I feel the most at home. Where I have the best bond with the teammates and where I can make an impact"

So saying something out loud makes him a "MASSIVE PRIMA DONNA"?

Honestly it sounds that way. " “For Ohio State to get my commitment, on the official visit they will just need to wow me and blow me away.” quotes like this make you think that. It's natural.

You know the kid apparently so you have a different perception of him than we do because you have more than just these and other quotes to base it off of. It's nothing personal but if another recruit that you didn't know said the exact same thing, wouldn't you tend to think the same?

No, I wouldn't. It's like anything in life whether it being a D-1 recruit, head-hunted, being rushed for a fraternity, or even lobbied. At the end of the day, you are most likely going to go with the people that wowed you the most.

We trail. But we absolutely have a shot. This thing is far from over.

You know the kid so I'll trust your judgment in this particular instance. It's just that there's those who say things like "I need to be wowed" and "they need to roll out the red carpet", publicly, and those who say things like "Just want the best opportunity to play, win a championship, etc...". We who see quotes like these make judgments based on what we hear. It's a natural human reaction.

I'm kinda with ya, but who gives a shite the kid is a badass. Tough to be #1 without being cocky sometimes.

His team must be pretty shitey if a safety is making those kinds of numbers or is he playing LB for them?

I would imagine some sort of rover position. That's what most high school teams do with a safety that good.

Gant looks to be a taller, skinnier Rambo. Ball skills look good and hands are soft.

Gant at FS, Tray at SS, Langley and Shaq at corner you have guys that have shutdown potential. This is if Gant can translate well to the SEC of course.

The upside to the "they're a young team on offense/defense/etc. is that it's temporary. Eventually it becomes "they've got a seasoned secondary/backfield/front seven/etc."
