Rivals have him as a 4*

Thats cool. I'm not knocking the kid. It just feels like he was a backup plan bc we missed on two or three other guys. Either way I hope he helps.

I think it's more for protection in case Swann leaves early.

Just subscribed for the regular season free trial on 247. Ends Dec. 1st

I also signed up for the free 247 trial. Espn has really gone down. They aren't even posting practice reports.

Serious question, when was ESPN ever up? I mean Kipp Adams is a pretentious douche, Radi is the fat kid that hung around the football team in HS and Ching is an Auburn guy.

Josh Malone announces today that he's not going to name finalists for his OVs. That means he's leaving 39+ schools out to dry on where he's going.
Per 247 about UGA's chances:
quote:
“Yall will probably just hear about me showing up at places on my official visits,” Malone said of his finalists. “I don’t think I’m going to make any announcements, I’ll just set up my visits and show up.”
Per 247 about UGA's chances:
quote:
One school that can sweat a little bit less than the others is Georgia. Malone continues to maintain that Georgia is the only program that has been publicly promised an official visit. However Malone still does not have a firm date scheduled for that trip to Athens, nor does he have any other dates locked in as of yet. Currently Malone is rated by 247Sports as the No. 6 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 2 prospect in the state of Tennessee. He is also ranked as the No. 61 prospect overall in the country.

I got in on the Dawg247 special as well. Cancelling ESPN next year when my renewal is up. I have already paid for the full year with them, so I am not cancelling it until then.

RE Lorenzo...
A friend of mine who is friends with his uncle said today he ran into him (the uncle) at the grocery store, and "Leo" (apparently his nickname in the family) is a Florida lock, but it was specifically said that if he doesn't go to Florida, he will go to UGA.
I took that to mean that Florida needs to have a bad season with Mussy on the hot seat and UGA with an SECC. And/or, he doesn't want his name in the newspaper every time he wants to have a drink and puff a doobie, and desecrate a nice young girl.

Isn't he the prototypical OLB in a 3-4? He doesn't seem like the DE or OLB in a 4-3 that Muschamp typically runs. Am I right in that assessment?

Are we going to still be running the 3-4 in 2014 IF Grantham finally jumps ship back to the NFL?

Depends on who is hired to replace CTG. If Coach O is promoted then probably, but who knows if we go after a guy outside the program? A guy like Bumpas from TCU could bring in a 4-2-5...just sayin'.
I'm to the point where, if CTG pulls his flirting with the NFL routine again this offseason, then just tell him to pack his fricking bags and get the frick out.

On one level I can see why he would want to do this. I mean, if you announce the schools set up paintball trips, etc, to impress a kid, and it really doesn't give him a real feel for the school. It is all staged. If you just show up, you can see what the normal, day to day life around a team/school is like.
On the other hand, if they don't know you are coming and there is a lot going on....the coaches might be busy, hard to get anybody at the last minute to show the kid around....it can cause problems, too.
This is all if I am understanding his intentions correctly. Sounds as if he is going to show up at the schools unannounced?

He did say he would "set up his visits". I took it to mean he wasn't going let the gurus know what he was up to.

Per Kipp Adams, after talking it over with his parents, Shattle Fenteng is going to wait until the start of his season before he makes a decision. His season starts Aug. 24th.
Wonder if we asked him to hold off to see where we stand with our other DB targets? Or if he's having second thoughts/really just wanting to make sure he's makes the best decision.

Probably wants to just make sure he is making the correct decision for his self and family.

Yeah, he's from Grayson HS I believe so I'm not expecting him to go anywhere else, tbh.
