Did you guys notice where ESPNU isn't covering our signing day? I guess they aren't expecting much of a splash from UGA.

GOOD. They covered UGA last year and we whiffed on all but JHC. And, he announced at like 8:30 so the whole coverage was a wash. I like ESPN not being in Athens if you ask me. Good Omen.

Foster is NOT our most important target. It sounds crazy, and I'm not always the sharpest knife in the drawer, but ...

My must have list:

TOP PRIORITY: 1 RB! We only have 2 RBs on the roster and only 1 commit.

Kamara would be great, but what if Bamer gets him to be their 8th string RB?

We have to get someone else at RB.

No TT at RB. He'll be rehabbing a knee. No RB for TT until 14 at the earliest.

No JJ moving over from CB. We need DBs in 13.

We HAVE to have at least one RB. Maybe pick up a 3 star with promise. Maybe he's not on our radar. Maybe he takes a spot that would have gone to a second DL, OLB or OL, but we need more than 2 RBs and a rookie to play old man football in the SEC.

29 + 1 = 30

Next: 1 DL. Adams or Johnson. Hopefully both, but the priority is on one DL.

We lost our 4 best DLs, and had only 8 or 9 DLs to begin with.

Got to at least replace the 4 we lost.

+1 = 31

Next: 1 OLB. Thomas or Bellamy. One is a priority.

With Floyd & McGee coming in, and Vasser, Stripling, Dawson, we may be OK, but we may need more than what we currently have to be at least half as good as we were with Jarvis.

+1 = 32

1 OL. LT or Crowder.

We need quality, and Tunsil is very, very important, but we have our entire OL, starters AND backups coming back, plus hopefully Houston, Pike, and 3 recruits.

+1 = 33

Next priority? Either a second DL OR a second OLB.

+1 = 34

The last spot? Maybe the best athlete we're still recruiting is Reuben Foster, but this guy has a real "Crow" vibe to me--and we have FOUR ILBs already committed.

If he commits, we have to take him, but I have to ask if, over time, would we be better off three years from now without Kamara, and with Foster? without Adams and Johnson, and with Foster? Without Thomas or Bellamy, and with Foster?

+1 = 35

So, my absurd conclusion is this: If miss on Kamara, Tunsil, Crowder (he looks solid to Clemson anyway) and Foster, I'd still be overjoyed with 3 of the following: Adams, Johnson, Bellamy, Thomas, but I'd rather have an under-the-radar-RB than Foster.

And if we don't get Tunsil or Crowder and we still have room, I'm all for signing and placing Seymour in Hargrave or JUCO, just to get another OL in the pipeline, and if he qualifies, it is even better.

Truth is, we'll be lucky to get any 4 or 5 of the 8 or 9 guys we're after, and we're looking good this late in the game, but we've got to have a 4th RB on campus by May or June.

UGA won't pass on Foster for some random RB who'll probably never play much.

My desire to finish the class

Tunsil
Adams
Johnson
Kamara
Belamy
Foster

In that order of priority.

IMO the only one we miss on is Foster. He is in too deep at AU.

Swann, Dawson, Bowman, Wilkerson, Langley, Wiggins...we'll be fine at CB. Even Rico Johnson could potentially play Corner, though he needs to play WR.

You left out our best OLB in Jordan Jenkins and next year there are some big prospects out of Georgia at WDE/OLB.

It's not Crowder, we've pretty much stopped recruiting him.

I agree with this...

but while I like the four we have committed already, Foster is an instant impact player and we need someone to line up next to Hererra next season.

Yep, we'll close with Johnson, Tunsil, and I'm thinking we'll seal the deal with Adams this weekend. Kamara to Bama, Crowder to Clemson, Bellamy sticks with FSU, and Thomas won't leave the state of Florida. Honestly, Foster will probably stick with Auburn when it's all said and done with, but it all hinges on his trip this weekend and Tray Matthews could be our not so secret weapon...until he transfers to Auburn next week per an e-mail I just got.

I can't believe we're a little over a week and a half away from NSD and there is so little real/new information flowing.

I think we'll know more after this weekend (Kamara, Mt Adams, Foster visit).

Also, I think some people are on edge because the belief is we're trailing on the 3 players previously mentioned. I'm really not sure. I am preparing for a Tunsil and Johnson NSD (which is still a pretty damn good haul).

eh, I don't know about that, RF just seems to be pressured a lot by people in his recruitment and hasn't responded greatly to it. Also he is really looking for a father figure and just when he thinks he has it at AU, the whole damn coaching staff gets pink slips so of course he leaves them. I think he is a lot more mature than Crowell, he really loves his daughter and wants to be a huge part of her life, it takes a pretty big man to take that responsibility on as strong as he has at such a young age. Also I think he has a lot more work ethic and less sense of entitlement than Crow did. JMO though.

Foster had two coaches fired during his recruitment and that has caused every decommitment. He isn't just making the decisions on a whim. I think he gets a bit of a bad rap but when the coach of the team you are committed to is fired then decomitting is not out of the question and perfectly logical.

UGA Coaches Flirting with Riles
This makes it appear like the coaches don't think we are getting Adams. Or maybe they're just hedging their bets.

I agree with you. I think they are getting nervous about Adams as well. It will stink if we only come away with Toby Johnston. I think Riles would have been a Dawg if we stayed on him. I heard he wanted to come to UGA earlier on. We also turned Kelsey Griffin away.
