Basically Im saying that UGA and player development are not synoymous and that my friends is a very stinky cologne.
Since when? We have been top 3 in NFL talent since Richt has been here. Your entire post is crap.

Just bc we have alot of players in the pros doesnt mean that they were fully developed while they were at uga. Say what you want man but its just my opinion.

I honestly think Garner cost us Adams and Grantham hurt us down the stretch with some defensive recruits by neither confirming nor denying his intentions until this morning. There will be more of the same next year if Grantham really does stay in Athens.

at least 2 of those 17 3-star players will end up playing to the level of some of those 5 stars we missed out on
I whole heartily agree with this. This is a good class that could have been a great class with a few pieces. I think the big thing this year was that we filled our needs early, so the NSD guys would have just been icing on the cake. Yea it sucks to lose Tunsil but that wont hurt us immediately, it only sets us up for possible problems in the future. Next year OT will be #1 priority in my opinion, with DE being 2nd. Just my 2 cents

Grantham said that he told the recruits the same thing he said to the media today. Saying that publicly earlier wouldn't have helped, IMO. However, his statement sounded incredibly non-committal to me - if recruits agreed then that definitely hurt.

I think it's best if he leaves. We are going to be in a similar situation next year. His defense is meh anyway. Negative recruiting really hurts when your coach (Richt) won't fire back.

Any idea who the mystery recruit is Kipp and Radi were talking about earlier? I heard DT but haven't heard a name.

Maybe we'll find out soon. Adams going to the barn probably helps our chances.

... Just got home from work. Haven't been able to follow the thread but kept getting twitter updates. I want to stay positive because let's be honest, 32-33 guys in one class is a nice haul and there is a lot of talent there. But it's obvious that this NSD has been a huge letdown as well.
Adams to the Barn makes sense in that I understand he wanted to play in a 4-3... as stated earlier though: WTF were we doing spending so much time on him if this was made abundantly clear? Turned away a lot of talent to hold space open for him.
Tunsil... frick.Ole.Mi$$. I couldn't give two shits if this kid ever sees the field. Hope he has high ankle sprains for his entire college career. Easily cost us 2 players at his position.
Kamara: Didn't bother me... never anticipated landing him. Would certainly have been nice to pull another solid RB though. Going to have to go HARD this year at at least 2 studs to inherit the GurShall Throne.
As much scrambling as our staff did here at the end to try and pull off the big names, I would have been much happier if they had focused on getting solid commitments from guys earlier... none of the silent bullshite. And then, pulled a Saban on some of these kids that start looking for attention, "If you want to go, your offer may (or will) be given away." Worked for them as it pulled Dee Liner back into the fold and honestly probably helped to land Reuben once he got in his little kerfuffle in Auburn. Thought we did a good job of solidifying Shaq after he was getting wobbly. Should have pressed on Tunsil and Adams and made it happen earlier. Even if they told us no, at least we know right?
As far as CTG, I had supported keeping him around because of his ability to recruit, but after this NSD, I'd be totally alright with him bouncing to the NFL. Woefully underprepared to stop the run in a league where it's critical. Add on top of that, no true NT for the upcoming season and you've got a disaster on defense. Get me someone who can make lemonade out of lemons and get these kids ready to play at their best. frick it... what is Gregg Williams doing these days? His indefinite suspension is only from the NFL right? Let him make his penance under Saint Richt.
I could keep going but I wont... If you read this far...

We stopped recruiting Crowder. He wanted to come here, coaches shut it down on him.
Would we have accepted his committment had he put on a UGA hat?
