Yup, that's all I needed to hear.

This. Year. I’ve watched enough over the previous years to know I hate to see how BK wastes great talent. For a basketball nerd and a&m fan, his offense is just not entertaining or enjoyable to watch.

I predict we’ll make the tourney, and lose in the second round to a team with less talent and better coaching. If we get a favorable second game, there’s a chance we’ll make the sweet 16, where we will definitely meet, and lose to, a better coached team.

This team should make the final four, but it won’t.

It's galling. Basketball is the true beautiful game, and we butcher the hell out of it It's one thing to play that way when you have a dearth of talent. We don't have that problem, though.

Kennedy can't coach a team around roster weaknesses. He's not Melvin Watkins bad, in that he can do fairly well A+ roster like he did in 2015 or at the start of this year (Melvin managed to go 0-16 with 2 lottery players at a 7 foot pro wrestler+rebounding machine). But if the roster isn't bulletproof, you get shite like tonight ala getting run out of his own gym by a decent but not great Florida team. Kennedy missed the freaking NIT last year with Gilder, Davis, and Williams, which should be impossible. In year 1, he lost to Rice despite having Elston Turner and Kris Middleton on the floor at the same time (again, should be impossible). In year 3 he got blown the frick out by UNT at home. He lost to fourth-rate cornbelt teams (Illinois and Missouri State).

Kennedy is on an absolutely epic recruiting tear, but he's not a good coach. The data on this is unassailable; for every good win you list, he has 3 embarrassing losses.

The problem with criticism of coaches in general (though it's particularly problematic among our fanbase) is a complete and total lack of nuance. A coach is either MISERABLY bad or he's great and all Aggies should support him. And you aren't allowed to criqitue or be unsatisfied with a coach who has had any semblance of success at any point in his tenure.

Unless you're on Melvin Watkins level, you'll be defended until the day you're fired by many around this athletic department. Billy Kennedy is not a bad coach, just like Kevin Sumlin wasn't. Neither has/had any business coaching at Texas A&M though. You shouldn't need 4-5 future professional players in your lineup to be competitive, and yet Kennedy has CLEARLY shown that is exactly what he requires.

I'm going to wait and see how the year ends to see how much criticism Kennedy deserves, and I think Hogg is partially on him as well. He is ultimately responsible for these kids. I've criticized Kennedy plenty in the past and don't think he's a very good X's and O's coach, but our football and basketball programs are two very different beasts as far what we should expect IMO and how we should act

Oh BK lost again against good coaching and inferior talent. Who could’ve predicted that?!

He’s terrible. We pay him a mil a year! Me and co head coach T Bird could split half of that salary and produce better results with the kids he’s working with.

I have no clue and neither do you. The season is still going. But I can assure you this is a year we should have competed for a conference championship and here we are in the midst of a January collapse that we will not be able to fully recover from. Each year there is an excuse or an explanation, but the results are consistently characterized as underachievement all the same.

I love it when people attack the kids who chose to play at A&M and defend the a-hole who is paid $1.5m/year and consistently throws them under the bus. Kennedy's system is crap - we're not generating tons of easy looks that the kids aren't making. More often than not, we're running poorly structured screens around the perimeter that does nothing besides kill clock. Or, when playing zone d, we just pass around the perimeter. It's appalling shite basketball and very rarely do we play our strengths to their weaknesses.

As an example, Kentucky demonstrated Kennedy's ineptitude indisputably. Our entire gameplan was utter crap. That was on the coach. It was so bad, halfwit commentators called a basic 2-3 zone a rubic's cube.

Goaltending for the guy makes no sense whatsoever. That we are having this conversation in year 7, with 212 data points showing what a pile of shite coach he is leads me to think that the only explanation for your posting is that you enjoy trolling everyone.
