I love it when people attack the kids who chose to play at A&M and defend the a-hole who is paid $1.5m/year and consistently throws them under the bus. Kennedy's system is crap - we're not generating tons of easy looks that the kids aren't making. More often than not, we're running poorly structured screens around the perimeter that does nothing besides kill clock. Or, when playing zone d, we just pass around the perimeter. It's appalling shite basketball and very rarely do we play our strengths to their weaknesses.

As an example, Kentucky demonstrated Kennedy's ineptitude indisputably. Our entire gameplan was utter crap. That was on the coach. It was so bad, halfwit commentators called a basic 2-3 zone a rubic's cube.

Goaltending for the guy makes no sense whatsoever. That we are having this conversation in year 7, with 212 data points showing what a pile of shite coach he is leads me to think that the only explanation for your posting is that you enjoy trolling everyone.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Billy Kennedy. Take a bow, Billy, you're painting your Mona Lisa.
Sometimes, and believe me this is rare, but every now and again, I think Looch doesn't know what he's talking about.
Good point.

How about this instead?

We have a DE that's playing like a top 3 pick in 2017, a QB playing like a 1st round draft pick, the 3 5 star WRs aren't projections, so it's not ALL projections, but regardless, we'll ignore that point, Josh Reynolds is playing at a level that would suggest he has a bright NFL career ahead of him, and finally, (and again, it wasn't a projection in the first place) our defense is playing better right now than any point in the previous 2 years. Better?
Every year, huh? So last year... and then? The year before, no that's not right. The year before that? Nope, not right either. So every year = last year. Got it.

Cajuns and keyboards is just a brutal combination. Hard to believe that y'all could make less sense typing than you do talking, but thanks for helping me realize anything is possible.

How people can still believe this, I don't know.
Well it will make him worse over time, but the problem is, and this is the key point, he really sucks dick regardless.

miracle worker? Seriously?

I'm not hating on the guy. I agree he's had a tough job. But tough or no, he hasn't done anything. Everyone wants to crown him yet can't point to a single accomplishment in 3 fricking years.

Based on what y'all have posted, it seems his best (and only) accomplishment during that 3 years is not being Billy Kennedy. I just fail to see that as any kind of loss.

He's recruited on an average level over the past 3 years. Given the resources he had to work with (a coach with no real track record of success, who suffers from PD, an abysmal record at A&M, a sense that the program is on the way down) and his recruiting is a bit more impressive.

Well, just submit a resume for an assistant coach position. According to jorts, they're giving them away. :dude:
He said it would be worse than Melvin. The only thing worse than Melvin is Pat Knight. Ergo, our boys are going to have a shite ton of fun next year.

:pimp: :pimp: :pimp:
The bigger problem is that depending on your view, the ship is either sinking or sunk, and this season, we lost two of the guys who were trying (failing) to bail water out.

Right now, the only assistant coach on the roster is a guy that wasn't a coach in any capacity a few years ago. So he'll be teaching fundamentals along with a fellow who has a disease that makes it hard to focus on details.

2014-15 is going to be brutal.
Congrats bud! You in town with him to celebrate or is the AF keeping you in mizzou?
Let's go ahead and bump this in light of the news that Cyprien has left the building.
Such an amazing amount of disrespect for Illinois State on this board.

:banghead:
The ineptitude on display tonight was absolutely priceless. Time and time again we made boneheaded plays that were so stunningly stupid, it was hard to fathom. I'd have gotten pissed off if some of that crap was happening in a pickup game.

There were two perfect moments. First, the last play of the first half, in which Caruso drove, kicked the ball to Jones, who was clearly not open, resulting in Jones making a half hearted attempt to create space before launching a tightly contested fade away three pointer from about 25'. That's the best you got Kennedy? Figures.

The second moment was when fabyon fell on the ball and just sorta flopped around on the court before trying to stand up. Obviously, he get whistled for a travel. This was with two minutes left or so, aka crunch time in a close game. We keep finding innovative ways to screw games up. It's pretty amazing. This of course overlooks the fact that Illinois State played like absolute shite tonight. In the last 5 minutes, they ran a few effective P&Rs because Roberson had anti-flubber on his shoes, but other than that, they just sorta dribbled the ball out. On a few occasions, I honestly thought they were just going to eat the shot clock violation.

In sum, this game was a definitive statement by Kennedy - "Mr. Hyman, I have no intention of ever achieving anything at A&M." Maybe, just maybe, Hyman was listening.
To be fair, we were playing Illinois Freaking State on the ROAD. It's not easy to walk into that meat grinder and get a W.

The Baptism was such a great moment. IIRC, that was the same season as the 5OT game against Baylor. Walking out of Reed, I wanted so desperately for some baptist to start a fight. I was so full of rage. Apparently, so was Mr. Sloan. I don't know that I've ever lived vicariously through a play like that one. It was a glorious frick YOU to the entire city of Waco.
I'm butthurt about the hire, no bones about it. This was a great hire by Auburn.

It's true that football is king in Alabama. The best way to deal with that:

1) Attack it head on with a splash hire - Check
2) Bring in a guy that excels at connecting with students and supports the school - Check
3) Install a system that is exciting to watch - Check
4) Make sure the coach has had success and isn't a flash in the pan hire - Check

There are no guarantees when hiring a new coach, but Auburn unquestionably made the right move. They committed with a big time hire. My guess is that it'll pay dividends for them starting immediately. Or, well, whenever Pearl is allowed to start recruiting.

Meanwhile, our coach is sitting around prattling about how in year 3 he just hasn't had enough time and his players all suck, meanwhile our program looks like that kinda hot, kinda ugly chick at the end of million dollar baby.
I am so butthurt about Pearl going to Auburn. We hire him and there is an immediate turnaround in attendance, people are excited, and we'd actually field a competent team next year.
Sure it is, because even though we played an easier non conference schedule and a weaker conference schedule in a weaker conference overall, we faced... adversity!! And Kennedy, being the only coach to ever face adversity, can't be blamed for our pucker factor, our terrible fundamentals, our piss poor offense, and our plummeting attendance.

Just wait til you guys see what the heir to the Zen Master has brewing for 2019. :nana: :nana: :nana:
