just face it my brothers and sister(s), embrace it. from this day on i will no longer have hope or expectations of us winning anything that means something(sec, ny6, CFP). it's never going to happen for us and i'm choosing to accept this fact.
we've tried everything we could over the years, and nothing has really worked out for us. i'm not done with aggie football, but i'm done hoping or expecting anything from aggie football.

I really thought at least the posters here would have more sense and not bleed all over the place after we met expectations in Jimbo year 1, but here we are.

The first third of the season was above expectations. The second third of the season failed to achieve the heightened expectations set from the first third. The season will be judged a success of a failure based on the next 4 games.
I remain encouraged about the state of the program, despite our failure to develop in the secondary and under center.

Eh, i used to be with you on this one, but that was before donors and admin started to take the necessary steps to compete on the biggest stage.
If the next 20 years from now are like the previous 20 then I'll be willing to say a&m will never be good at football in my lifetime. I could be wrong, but I feel like this is the first time the alumni base with their money, are starting to compete in a major way with the top programs in the country.

Problem is we don't have 20 years.
Realignment will start again in 2022. We either build ourselves up to be a respectable program by then, or OU joins the SEC and buries us for the rest of time.
The window is closing fast...

It may start sooner than that. The ACC Network launches next season. If it proves as successful as the SEC Network, ESPN may kill the Longhorn Network before its 2025 expiration.

Actually the Longhorn Network contract doesn’t expire until 2030.
2022 is when we are within a few years of the B1G and Big 12 GORs and contracts expiring.

I believe the Big12 got renewed to 2025.

It does suck. But at least give Jimbo 5 years before you completely write the whole thing off as a failure. Remember, we are still dealing with Sumlin fallout. 34 point lead dropping Sumlin.

I'm not buying this. Oklahoma doesn't have Stoops anymore (and probably burned that bridge by firing the last Stoop brother). I personally believe Lincoln Riley will be the coach that slowly erodes everything Stoops built.
Remember, every big school is one coach away from being good. But also one Dan Hawkins away from playing intramurals brotha'!

It did. But think about it, by that time the programs leaving will already have made their decisions about where to go.
Sometime around 2023 the GOR suddenly turns into a buyout because programs will be able to afford losing two years of media rights to get a bigger payday. So I expect real movement in 2022 to start happening.

Don’t kid yourself, OU is a blue blood program like Texas wishes they could be and is easily the most prestigious program in our region across a century of coaches.
Our SEC recruiting success since 2012 has come out of recruits both they and Texas would have signed a decade earlier. Selling the SEC when they can’t have given our program an edge that we never had against them, the kind of edge that prevents Mr. Texas A&M kind of bullshite.
Once OU can sell the SEC and that edge is gone either we have some recent history of success to point to or we are done for as far as maybe being a national title winning level program for a long time. Why would they come here when going to OU they can play in the SEC at a program with actual hardware in the trophy case?
The GOR clock is ticking.

OU isn't coming to the SEC. They aren't wanted, and there is no partner to come with. Texas? Not ever happening

A&M has had flashes of brilliance WITHOUT the kind of committment we have now to football or athletics in general.
It's hard to win a NC. May not win one but to at least know the admin is not short changing the fans is a major positive. The effort is there across the board.

OU doesn’t have the votes to get into the SEC. Nobody wants another blue blood in the West.
