LSU was in a rebuilding year last year losing 13 player to the NFL draft and still managed 10 wins. With the bowl game teams play upwards of 15 games now which is absurd and I think 10 wins should be a minimum now.4
The move to the SEC has helped A&M I believe in closing the gap with LSU grabbing kids from certain areas. With A&M in the SEC and the SEC producing so many players in the NFL it helps.

most teams will only be able to play 15 games if they play at Hawaii and also go to a conference title game.
at most only 5 or so teams a year will have played 15 games and more than likely it will often only be the 2 teams that make it to the end of the playoff.

10 wins is minimum if you're a spoiled fan. LSU was nowhere near true rebuilding last year.

Yes but y'all were rebuilding with the proper bricks. We are just now getting a foundation built and hopefully the bricks continue to choose us so we can reload the way y'all and some others do.

but the potential to play 15 is still there...
even if they don't play in a conference championship that is 14 game and a 10-4 record should be expected to be considered "elite"

Yeah if you play the slate of teams the SEC does. If you play in any other conference you need 12 imo.

A&m is SEC no?
Therefore 10-4 should be what they strive for each and every season hoping for that perfect season where everything clicks
SEC is still the toughest conference for me and 1 loss should not stop a team for playing in the NC game.

I agree we should strive for 10+ wins a season but it's unrealistic to expect that just yet. 2015 and beyond is different I will expect it then.

That has nothing to do with Texas A&M University.
I'm not arguing with you--don't misunderstand me--I just don't see the relevance?

7 wins and I'm disappointed
8 wins I'm content
9+ wins and I'm a happy camper.

Just that with a coach like Sumlin if he is a top notch coach in the nation he should reach 10 wins. I know Les gets a lot of grief for being goofy but he continues to win which is a sign of a good/great coach

We will probably all make fun of Les on the rant but he's a very good coach and an even better recruiter, no denying that.

This early, here is how I'm feeling.
Obvious wins: (4 wins)
Lamar
SMU
Rice
ULM
Should/favorite win: (2-3 wins)
Arky
State
Ole Miss
Toss up/no favored: (0-2 wins)
LSU
BAMA
Auburn
Mizzou
USCe
Worst case, 6-6 and very disappointed, but not a shocker.
Best case, 9-3 win a few wins over ranked opponents.
Likely 7-5 or 8-4 and 4th in the West.

That's a pretty fair assessment. Every year there will be some surprise teams to the upside and some to the downside, but bucketing games like what you have is usually the best way to get close to the end result.
That being said, nobody ever has any idea what will happen

Either you're trolling or slow.
Nobody on here is debating the fact that an elite program or coach should be winning at least 10 games a year. What you seem to not understand, even though it has been stated repeatedly, is the fact that we haven't had the sustained recruiting success of an Alabama over the last several years. Therefore we don't have the depth of talent yet to expect 10+ wins every year.

If trolling, he needs to be removed.

I don't think he is trolling. A great coach should be winning ten games a season. Unfortunately this last year we didn't have the players on defense to get there. No amount of coaching was gonna get that defense to the level it needed to be at.
