So I need help from y'all, deep down my confidence is growing about what A&M will achieve next season and I am scared that pretty soon I will be divorced from reality.

What my brain can't ignore is all the signs we will do well:

-Got a top rate DC and OL coach
-Got another great recruiting class to go with the last one
-We have a lot of players who have a good balance of youth and experience
-We have a very favorable schedule

and (the big one for me)

-Everyone is expecting us to be last in the West this year (or near that) with 7 wins at most. In my years as an Aggie the team does the best when the expectations are low and they play with a chip on their shoulder.

I put all that together and I see 10 or 11 wins easily. Am I crazy? Is there something I missed?

Thank you for any assistance in this matter.

I foresee no more than 9 regular season wins, but really I think we will end up with 8 wins including bowl game. But I'm also a nototrious pessimist, so take that for what it's worth.

I can see 10 wins sure but I can also see at least 6 losses.

The two most important things that need to happen to get to 10 are for the defense to quickly acclimate to the new scheme and for the defense to stay healthy.

IMO the biggest reason 2012 went so well compared to'13/'14 was b/c the D really didn't suffer many killer injuries/expulsions that wrecked what little depth we had.

My main concern is the new systems for the OL and defense may take some time to gel and start performing well. Now I may be completely wrong in that assessment but I bet we see our level of play get better and better as the year goes on.

There's some good signs going into the season, but also some huge questions:

-Can Chavis work with our current talent?
-Will Chavis' style work with an uptempo offense?
-Can Kyle Allen protect the football?
-Can we establish a run game?
-Have our receivers improved on their drop issues?
-Can our incoming class contribute immediately?

I'd like to say our schedule is favorable, but the only reason it might be is because of the small number of true road games, which we've done better in compared to home games in recent history.

With all that in mind, I'm not too optimistic. I'll say 8 wins, but we show promise related to the above mentioned questions.

Almost forgot to add the biggest question of all: Does our offensive play calling improve?

If we run another series that goes "bubble screen, stretch run, low % sideline route" exactly again I'm going to cut someone.

Not crazy. Pessimistic! 15-0!

I'm fired up about Chavis but I'm not sure we have the players we need yet. The DL will be really good, but behind them... eh. We'll see. Young guys are going to have to step up and Hilliard has to stay healthy.

The offense I think will be outstanding at every position.

Kicking game: Oh noes, it's Bertolet again. I can see him losing a game or two for us. I hope I'm way wrong about that.

If things break our way, we gon b gud.

Depends on how quickly everyone gels, though. I still think we're a year away, but not ruling out lightning striking, either.

Honestly I think 10 wins is easily attainable.

I've said from the start all we need as a defense is to be able to take away chances. Snyders plan was to slow teams down, but time doesn't matter, it's all about points per drive.

Aggressive defense will probably give up some big plays, but we'll force our share of turnovers and 3nouts...

Offensive line is a little concerning, but our offense is designed to overcome OL deficiencies, and I think we'll be fine.

This season is all about health. I think our LB's could even be a plus if we dodge injuries.

It is? I think that will be a strength on this O. Not because our talent is better, but because coaching won't be as bad.

I want to be optimistic, but 3 major areas have to come through: 1] legitimate running game; 2] respectable defense; 3] place kicking. If any one of those fails to materialize, then there's no way we win 10.

I haven't forgotten about him, I am just scared to beat that drum lest someone demands a nickname.

I've already put us on my outlook calendar for a visit to Atlanta the first weekend in December. I think you're safe in your kool aid consumption.

Kenny failed to succeed do to maturity issues.

Sumlin will have a seasoned qb with exceptional skills and maturity this season.

Expect Keenum or late 2012 Johnny

Wait, who passed me this Kool aid
