Texas State is hiring Jake Spavital as its new head coach, didn't see this one coming at all. Got stale ???

"Spavital becomes the youngest FBS coach in the state and the second-youngest in the nation at 33 years old, but he’s been considered an offensive wunderkind for the better part of this decade. He first earned acclaim as West Virginia’s quarterback coach in 2011 and 2012 before getting his first coordinator job, replacing Kliff Kingsbury as Texas A&M’s offensive coordinator under Kevin Sumlin.
This is where the Spavital narrative splits — fans will tout that he guided the Aggies to the 4th best offense in the nation in 2013, and kept the A&M machine humming; detractors will argue that the offense dropped from 4th to 50th in the two years after Johnny Manziel left, and the playcalling got stale."

Wow. Good for him I guess, but I don’t see it working out long term. Tech just tried the young coach route and look how it turned out for them.

Texas State ain't Tech. They finished 3-9, 1-7 in the Sun Belt. Rutgers, easily the worst team in B1G, beat 'em by 4 touchdowns. They'll improve.
