Defense overall has been inexcusable against Auburn and SC. The tackling in particular has been absolutely horrendous.

The defense has regressed from last year, said it a month ago and it's still true.

Missed tackles, missed catches, no terrible calls against us. No reason we should have lost that game.

There is a shitload to be pissed about. I haven't watched near as much football last 2 yrs but from what little I've seen of bama, tOSU, Dawgs n sips it's safe to say college football is horrible now days. My 2A high-school looked as bad as any team in our history wk one and haven't lost since. My old arse can't explain Gen Z.

Let's hope Mich St n Neb types and Big 12 n ACC schools poach some of the transfer studs to start and SEC doesn't just stock pile depth. Nabou, Chapelle, Owen's, we.have some talemt and hope Moffit stays for.a few years!!!!!

Football is amazing but hope we all have constructive hobbies that help yourself or your neighbors.

I’ve said all year our defense was flimsy at best. If the pass rush didn’t get there quick, our secondary is bad, real bad. Last couple of weeks have shown that. What is puzzling (and frustrating) is that we are playing bad at the worst possible time. While other teams are hitting their stride, we are cratering down the stretch. Where was our D-line on Saturday? Scourton’s name wasn’t called once. We got very little pressure and gave up a ton of rush yards.

I’m not freaking out about Elko just yet, it’s year one of his program and he had a lot of stuff to come in and fix. Again, our secondary is a mess. Wide receiver group is lacking, and plenty more. How we play next year will be very telling. Does the team improve and look better coached/execute more? Or do we look the same/regress? If the later, then I’m definitely worried. But you got to give a guy a chance to make a program his, look at Nick Saban and Kirby Smart’s first year records at Bama and Georgia. Rome wasn’t built in a day. But with the advent of the portal/NIL era, it also doesn’t take 4-5 years to build a team to where you want it either.

Someone said there hasn't been a holding call against our DL since Bowling Green. No way that's true, right?

Read the same thing too, if so that’s downright robbery.

I have to note that there is no actual question in this post.

The inference is that Elko is a defensive coordinator by trade, so one would expect him to at least teach kids to tackle and play defense. The questions would then be, why the hell don’t we have a good defense and why can’t we tackle.

We do have a good defense, but their performance against Auburn is extremely concerning. South Carolina was a hangover game, so I'm not too worried about that. But giving up 31 to Auburn is...bad.

The lake of pass rush hurts but the lack of holding calls does too.

We miss Lee in the secondary. Hopefully he can play this weekend. Hill too.

I read on an injury update report from an A&M website that he went out in the first quarter of Auburn (which explains a lot in terms of Thorne's passing numbers), but that Elko expects him back tomorrow.

I thought our pass rush was supposed to be outstanding?

Missed tackles lead to the first td, the uncalled holding calls also played a huge roll.

Yeah, the holding is atrocious. So is the lack of tacking.

Also, we should have two interceptions that would have flipped the game, just hoping we don't get boat raced at this point.
