I'm expecting us to do what we have done all year long. Spiller one series, Achane the next. Rinse and repeat. I'm just hoping Fisher doesn't try and leave the game in Calzada's hands again like he did against Ole Miss

Yeah he doesn't seem to enjoy going with the hot hand

I expect a sluggish first half with LSU being fired up to start the game, couple red zone visits where we settle for fgs. We pull away some in the second half after their defense gets worn down from being on the field so much, from what little I've seen of them lately their offense is going to struggle big time against our defense. We cover the 7 going away, 27-13.
All of that is dependent on our guys catching the damn ball, man I miss guys that regularly won one on one battles and always caught the ball if it hit their hands.

Yards per play, we rank
#33 at home
#90 away or neutral
We've scored 10, 10, 19 and 35 in our four games away from Kyle and LSU's scoring defense is comparable to the teams that make up the 3 worst of those scores.
The only thing I can feel confident about is our defense will be good enough to give the offense a chance. But I don't know if the game plan and execution will be up to the task. History says it won't be, but maybe Jimbo and Calzada can put together a performance that has eluded us so far in Baton Rouge.
In BR, we've lost with Johnny Football, Kyle Allen, Nick Starkel, Kellen Mond, Sumlin (0-3), Jimbo (0-1). I'd like to think we're playing well enough to break the streak and get that first win there, but I guess I won't believe it until I see it.

Why are we so inconsistent on the road? It cant just be crowd noise right? there have to be other factors
Posted on 11/24/21 at 8:37 am to Ag_16
Because Calzada is an average to below average quarterback and his faults (nervous/jittery feet, throwing off back foot, inability to progress through reads, staring down his receiver...etc) are exposed moreso on the road than at home where he has less pressure and noise.

Spot on. And I hate bagging on Calzada too much as I do appreciate what he's done for the team being thrust into the action like he was. Last QB to beat Bama was Manziel, so in good company there. But he just doesnt have great fundamentals and is too nervous back there.
Road game is even more pressure so he doesnt handle it as well.
I'm pretty convinced the LSU game will come down to QB and WR play. Defense should handle its self, special teams will be ok, running game should be fine, but Calzada has got to see the open guys and have some good throws. Receivers have to not have a lot of drops and do some good downfield blocking for the running game.

Am I the only one that thinks that injuries forcing Fisher to play Muhammad more is a good thing? He seems to be the receiver with the best hands on the team.

It's a very good thing. Demas is the best athlete, but Moose is the best WR. By a fair margin, to be honest. He won't give up that spot again

Having moose and Ainais on the field helps us greatly

I hate that that is what it takes to get him on the field but I agree with you, it's a good thing

He has the tools to be a very good QB, but it is going to take time to develop him. From the outside looking in, it seems that a lot of his issues just come down to confidence. You help your team beat the Alabama schools, but lose to the Mississippi schools on the road? Every away game, he's had the same look I used to get after I pulled an all nighter and took 5 hour energy shots in the morning.
When he's comfortable, the dude can ball. When he's not, he makes the same mistakes over and over again; he overthrows his receivers, he doesn't make good progressions and misses wide open guys, and he just puts too much arm on easy dump passes.

I’ll be ducking and dodging

I thought about going since I was invited, but I’m a curse so politely declined. I won’t even watch the game

I appreciate your sacrifice
