I fault Fisher not quite as much for Calzada, but more for Stowers. It's a fact there are no alternatives except a walk-on. Stowers already been moved to TE so Calzada's backup is a walk on. That's on Fisher. Weigman is likely the backup next season

Develop a two QB system. Let them both play in the early games.

2 QB systems don't work. Whoever gives you the best chance to win plays.

Now that we have 3 losses, I think it's official for most that this season is now a disappointment. For me, 10-2 was the goal. 11-1 would have been awesome. 9-3 pretty much means, not competing for the west, not getting an NY6 bowl, and not sniffing the top 5. We can beat PV A&M, Lsu, and then win the Citrus Bowl and it'll be nice, but still not what we wanted this year.

9-3 is definitely a disappointment for a year that we started ranked #5, returned a lot of starters, and had a favorable schedule.

But after King went down and watching Calzada play in the two losses, I was just going to be happy with 8-4. Which is basically what we are at with one surprise upset over Bama, assuming we beat LSU which I'm not assuming at this point.... we are the better team by far but we have not played well on the road which is not good.

10 wins with a bowl game is still an ok season in my books with everything we faced this year, but Jimbo needs to keep the recruiting momentum and set up well for the next few years.

The difference between this season and 2010 may very well come down to a bowl win.

Both seasons started 3-0.

Both seasons had 3 disappointing losses, including a bed-shitting performance at home.

Both seasons had a loss to Arkansas in JerryWorld.

Both seasons had great defenses and a quarterback change due to injury.

Both seasons ended with 2 true freshmen starting on OL.

Both seasons had a home win over a team we hadn't beaten in 8 seasons and a home win where we didn't allow or score an offensive touchdown.

If we win in Baton Rouge, Both seasons had wins over a hated rival on the road that kept them from being bowl eligible.

The difference is we should beat any mediocre Big Ten team we play in a bowl.

Agree. Do not want a 2 QB system.

The year has been a bit dissapointing because of the Oline play. Want to be in contention in the West you better have top 2 or top 3 Oline in the entire SEC. That is the path.

We had the D this year. Truth is we are on 2nd string QB that lost out to King. With that said he might have had better results if he didn't spend the first 3 or 4 games under center running for his life. Also been a prett

Mediocre offense and nothing more. We are fortunate to have had Spiller and Achane in our backfield because their ability to make something out of nothing helped our Oline out a lot.

Now to add to our road struggles we have a 6pm kickoff in Baton Rouge

Jimbo seems to have slammed the door on the LSU rumors

Yep, he stopped just short of predicting that we would sign the #1 recruiting class. And then said he would have to be the dumbest coach on the planet to recruit that well to go have to play that team every year.

The majority of the hair missing from Jimbo’s head is likely down to the 2004 LSU QB situation

Nah.

His footwork and progression reads are poor even when the line gives him a great pocket to work with.

There have been way too many times that we have had guys running free for a big play and he either made an inaccurate throw (uncatchable, behind WR, in dirt etc) due to throwing off his back foot or just straight up didn't see an open player b/c he was tunnel visioning onto a receiver (usually Lane or Wydermyer). Just off the top of my head I can think of two easy TDs he missed out on (one vs Pig and one vs Ole Miss) that would have been simple passes to the RB but he was too busy staring down Wydermyer to notice how insanely open they were. Both of those would have been massive momentum changers.

It's possible that as a multi year starter he could fix a lot of his issues the same way that Mond was able to but that was never going to happen here once Mond stayed his senior year and he got beat out by King as the backup. That's unfortunate too b/c he's got a lot of moxie, is clearly a leader on the team, and most frustratingly really does have one hell of an arm that could be deadly if he ever put together the rest of his game.

King will be better next year. Weigman in the future - we are in good shape at QB, but we knew this year would be a little rough if the starter was injured. That happened in the second game

Is going to be interesting to watch the QB battle play out in spring and fall. Is Weigman supposed to be a spring enrollee or is he coming in the fall?

If it were Calzada vs. Weigman I could see Weigman as the starter as a true fish. However, King will win the competition and give Weigman time to learn without being thrown into the fire

It's just unfortunate that everything we are going off of for king is primarily off-season hype. We haven't really seen him in live action performing extraordinarily. That injury was so unfortunate.

I still *think* he will be really good/great, just a bummer we don't have much live action to base that opinion on. I'm still really hopeful though. And I think Connor W is going to be really good too

Anyone else feel a little bad beating Prairie View since they are part of the system?
