So miss out on as good or better national recruits who want to play for A&M as opposed to Texas kids who want all the attention but end up out of state as well? That street goes both ways.

Not going after their players seems like a quick way to piss them off in the long run.
The state of Texas has been seriously deficient in defensive talent for the past 15 years. Especially at DL and LB. Why would we continue to go to that well?
We are still recruiting a ton of talent from Texas, but also adding talent from some national pipelines (most notably in the NE US).

The state of Texas had 2 from each group drafted in the first round this year.

I know some mods at TexAgs think we have a real shot. It'll be a hard pull, but it would make for one hell of a class at DT with he and Vaka.
