What position does he project as? TE or DE?

I gotta think he gets a look at TE first. Especially with Cupp and Smith injuries, we don't have the depth we need there. We also still have a lot of true DEs left on the board in 2020 so I doubt we would've taken his commitment if that's where they projected him, but maybe I'm wrong.

Would love it if he showed up at 310 pounds and wanting to play OT.

Why? He’s also a basketball player with good hands, good ball skills and a high ceiling to be a great pass catcher.

He’s projected as a TE but he has more tape at DE.

Because the only pure tackle we signed in 2018, 2019 & 2020 that is still on the roster is Blake Trainor. If this kid is really 6'6 275 in high school and growing, that seems like a really big TE to me. Just think we need another tackle more than another TE in this class. But I have no idea about this kid. Just know we need offensive tackles.

We have Reuben Fatheree, Trey Zuhn and Matthew Wykoff committed at OT this year. We’ll be fine.

Does anyone know a supposed comp for Shadrach Banks? Is he like Dylan Wright? I know he's good, just haven't seen a ton said about him.

I would compare him to be a more athletic Malcome Kennedy, they are about the same size at 6’ 205-210 also. Dylan is over 6’4 and at least 210.

Jason posted this on TA a couple weeks ago.

* Shadrach Banks is a special, special talent - Watching Shadrach Banks shake up Klein Collins last night brought a smile to my face. My goodness, when he's healthy, Banks is a terror. He has the power to run through tackles, the speed to breakaway, and then you throw in reliable hands, a tremendous catch radius, body control, and field awareness. He's abilities are not discussed often enough and neither is his commitment. There's a reason coaches at North Shore have been buzzing about him since his freshman year and there's a reason he was one of the first prospects to emerge in the 2021 class, he's a special talent. Sometimes we all need a reminder of even the obvious and last night was a reminder to me, oh yeah, Shadrach Banks is a freaking baller. He's going to remind a lot of people of that this fall.

He reminds me of Deebo Samuel from South Carolina/on the Niners. Built like a running back, tremendous after the catch but still a very sound receiver with body control

I think him and Demas could complement each other really well. Demas is more of a traditional receiver who should be able to stretch the field once he can handle press and Banks can line up all over and could be deadly working out of the slot

Pumped he's talented. Just as pumped that we're pulling someone out of North Shore. Hope it opens it up a little bit.

That would be so cool. That Florida win could be a game changer for us. Gotta keep winning.
