Not too much attrition needed to finalize the 2018 roster

From looking over the roster, including the medical retirement of Justin Dunning, it looks like we currently have 65 scholarship players on campus (including the two early entrants).
That means, if you include the 21 signees that haven't enrolled yet, we have 86 scholarship players plus any graduate transfers.
Based upon that, who do you think leaves the program?
Here are the candidates that I see:
QB - Kellen Mond. Between Starkel, Blumrick, and Foster, I don't see how Mond, who had a completion percentage of 55% in HIGH SCHOOL and even worse as a true freshman, makes the cut in a Jimbo Fisher offense.
RB - None. Between running backs and fullbacks, I see at least 5-6 backs playing this year. If Bussey doesn't make that rotation maybe he transfers. I assume anyone else but Williams that didn't make the rotation would redshirt.
WR - I don't know if Davis ever fully recovered from his injury. Rogers and Chriss will quickly fall off the depth chart if they don't show a lot in the spring.
TE - Everyone will play.
OL - Dietsch can still grow into his own, but Prater fell off the map after the first three games. Still don't see anyone transferring just yet.
DL - T.D. Moton needs to shite or get off the pot. Everyone should play. We simply don't have enough bodies for them not to.
LB - Garner will never amount to more than a special teams player. Simply not enough bodies for anyone else to leave.
DB - I hope we've seen the last of Deshawn Capers-Smith. I hope for his sake we see SOMETHING from Roney Elam.
P/K - I think we'll do with Small like we did with Braden Mann. Have him on kickoffs until LaCamera graduates, then move him to placekicker.

I think Jimbo will do like sumlin (and most other coaches for that matter) and keep the QB starting spot open until fall camp so to keep all the QBs around for depth. I do see Mond transferring out after this season, especially if we get Gunnel in the 2019 class.
I do think we have a running back transfer either this year or next. 3 guys on the current roster plus the UCF transfer and then 3 or 4 new recruits? There aren’t enough snaps to go around, even if one of them converts to FB or even plays defense. I’ve seen several people saying Vernon jackson would make a good hybrid position defensive player (Elko uses a linebacker/safety I think) but the whole deal with his last minute recruiting struggle between us and tu was letting him play on offense....
At DB DCS has certainly disappointed in the games he’s played, but I’ve been even more disappointed with Larry Pryor. For such a high rated recruit, he doesn’t do anything back there when he did play. Never near the ball and doesn’t make good tackles or cover well, I’m not saying he’s likely to transfer or anything, just that I hope we’ve got some other depth for safety unless he drastically improves under Jimbo’s coaching.
Agree that we need depth on D-line so I hope we keep everyone there and TD Moton finally lives up to all his hype. And that with the receivers we are bringing in some of the guys who have already been here and not played much might be getting passed up even further.
Long story short, I see transfers at QB, WR, and RB after this season at a minimum, but for who will go before the 2018 season so we can make our roster limit? I’ve got no idea.

I promise you Jimbo has already started the process.

1) My guess is McZeal will be told that he doesn't fit what we do and Trevor Woods will take his spot.
2) 2-3 DBs/WRs are going to be out. It might be Davis medically retiring. It might be that Chattman can't get academically eligible. Could just be a guy like Moses Reynolds being buried on the depth chart.
3) Gillaspia probably won't be on scholarship for his final year.
4) Koda Martin might Grad transfer to Syracuse, especially if we pull Calvin Anderson from Rice.
Overall as you said, we aren't that far off on numbers so I don't expect crazy attrition for this year. Next year, the guys who don't factor in during 2018 will probably be looking for somewhere else to play.

WR- davis is a possible retiree but hansford is the one id look to get pushed to transfer.

Possibly, I would think we would ask him to pursue a position change (Rover) rather than push him out all together. I agree the result may be the same in that he may decide to transfer if we asked him to go to defense.

I would hope he'd switch to defense before he transfers. A 6'3" 225 4.5 running LB would be nice.

Will never play. I've heard from a current player he is extremely lazy. Which is unfortunate given his brother's work ethic

You don’t yank a scholarship from the 12th man, a team leader, to make room for a recruit
Unless he’s arrested or flunks out

CAN CONFIRM: I will be playing my senior season a fullback/H-back and I couldn’t be more excited. Time to get to work. #Gigem

Here's hoping he can be the next Stacey Jones.

he is definitely one of the best 12th men ever

Next Stacey Jones....talk about bringing back a memory. Jones made the key block when Jamar Toombs had that glorious touchdown run vs OU in 2000. It cleared the way for Toombs to be on the loose in the secondary.

I can see it now. Gilly with the fullback dive on the goalline for 6. Kyle would go apeshit
