They have to learn eventually. Especially Robinson since other schools keep eyeing him DC positions. Although it could be just to get him a bigger pay bump. Santucci was Elko's guy.

I am fine with Robinson. Santucci I don’t get. I’d like an experienced play caller we could pair with Robinson if going the Co DC route

Santucci is Clark Lea #2. When Notre Dame promoted Elko's right hand man, it worked. Think it will here too.

I have a really good one that I just made but I'm not sure I want to use it just yet...

I'll do this classic one instead for now.

Co-something means you have nothing there IMO.

I'm not necessarily a fan of these moves, if true. But co-coordinators is a classic way to entice two people to stick around, and allows you to give both guys promotion and raises.

Georgia is going with co-DCs. Hell even LSU's 2019 offense, possibly the best in CFB history, had co-OCs

True but both had/have at least one guy who had already done by himself.

Yeah that is the part I don't love about the proposed move for co-DCs next year

That’s what I was hoping for as a new hire, with Robinson as the Co DC. I guess they really like Santucci, IMO our LB play has been pretty mediocre under him. This year in particular

Buddy was great last year

Edge was pretty good this year. Hansford has been decent as a late convert to the position. Andre White did not look good at all.

This year it seems we struggled with run fits and assignments at that level. Maybe part of the blame lies with the DL too but we had some brutal performances against the run especially with read option teams - Kent State, Colorado, Arkansas and Ole Miss absolutely torched us on the ground. Just very inconsistent considering the talent advantage against several of those teams

In somewhat limited playing time Cooper looked like a stud, hoping he continues to improve after his injury.

They were far from great, but I think the talent at the LB position is way behind the rest of the defense, so I would expect them to be a weaker part of the defense.

With Cooper as the starting point, and potentially adding a bunch of highly rated guys going forward, I could see the position becoming much stronger the next few years.

Cooper looks really good don’t get me wrong. I was more critiquing their performance as a unit this year.
