If Freeman has actually reached out I think it’s a classic case of a guy using us for an extension to firm up his job security. I don’t see him actually leaving, not for us at least

I don't want him. We shouldn't even entertain the idea

There’s no great, sure fire hires out there imo. Go get the young HC with an unproven ceiling and put all the resources we have around him to allow him to succeed. If it doesn’t work out let him go. No extensions, no long term contracts. 3-4 years and make it program friendly to walk away from

ND treats Freeman like an iterim coach. He had Ludwig hired, and the ND admin balked at the buyout. He hasn't had much support from ND, kind of like Kelly complained about.

Freeman is a stud coach, and we would be lucky to get him. Supposedly he reached out to us.

Of course Freeman shot down by Liucci as well. It is going to be Traylor (one fricking name that won't go away), prepare for it. When announced, I am out. Just going to become a CU fan, since one of my kids went there. Our boosters are simply incompetent to the extreme.

What exactly is it that you hate about Traylor so much?

I know him through some Texas friends. He is a POS that has a bunch of THSCA connections. What most won't tell you is that most of those connections hate him. Think Tom Herman but with zero skins on the wall.

This is the boosters call, and I was told he was the front runner for the job. I just couldn't believe it. BTW, all the rumors are true.

I would literally support almost any other coach for the job. I'm praying Bjork still has some influence on the hire.

It is the same old garbage from the boosters running the show. Nothing will change probably in my lifetime. Just promote ERob if you are going to hire that POS. Let's pay a $75M buyout, and hire a t-sip wannabe. Should have known as soon as Liucci started trying to polish the turd.

I’d rather have kept Jimbo another year and seen what “the greatest recruiting class of all time” could’ve done under him as upperclassmen vs hiring Traylor.

There isn’t a slam dunk name out there right now and that’s fine, but this guy was on Charlie Strongs’s abysmal staff, Aggie Chad’s absymal staff, and other than that just high school and G5 experience. He has a decent record at UTSA with a 6th year QB. Seems like Tom Herman 2.0.

Apparently he was very negative towards A&M while on the longhorn staff and I think that’s why a lot of people don’t like him. And similar to Herman has burned a lot of bridges with Texas high school coaches and isn’t well liked in several circles. I couldn’t care less about all of that, if he’s a winner, bring him on, but I don’t think he’s the guy that will win us championships.

Well at least he should be cheap to fire in 3-4 years if he's really that bad.

I've only watched a few of UTSA's games over the years and they really haven't impressed in most of them. Getting their asses handed to them by Army this year was an awful game that comes to mind. I know some people will excuse it b/c his QB was out but they didn't lose b/c their offense stunk. It was b/c they flat out could not stop Army from gaining 4 yards every play.

After looking at his 4 years at UTSA I'm not even sure what his marquee win at UTSA would be. 9-5 WKU, 9-4 UAB, 6-6 Memphis, or 5-7 Illinois in 2021? 9-5 WKU in '22? 6-4 Texas State in '23? His resume is extremely thin.

This sounds like he's buddies w/a big donor b/c I don't really see where the hype for him would be coming from.

If it’s Traylor we should go Tennessee couch burning, Greg Schiano, nuclear as a fan base and force the decision makers back to the negotiating table. We will be firing his arse 18 months later after he craters the program like Arkansas and Chad Morris. Being at UTSA he might as well still be a HS coach. As far as I’m concerned he doesn’t have a relevant track record to prepare him for being in charge of an SEC program.

I've already sent an email to Justin Moore telling him that myself and several friends will all pull funding from the athletic department if Traylor is hired. I suggest others do the same.

Ross Bjork's email isn't public ...

The poster calling it apparently has a pretty good track record of being right on coaching hires. He called both Jimbo in September of 2017 and was all in on Buzz early on too.

I have no idea why we'd even fire Jimbo early if Traylor is the guy. There was very little chance he be snapped up before the season was over.

We’re not hiring Traylor. And that same poster said we were promoting Petrino just a few days ago. And the Jimbo hire was known to be brewing by A LOT of people mid-November 2017. Woodward and he had already been in talks for a month and the big donors had already been notified.

I used to donate quite a bit. I haven't done so for the past year, since Fisher was retained.

Haven't tried that. And I doubt that Ross Bjork or his executive assistant would bother responding.
