Elko, Petrino, Robinson? I’m good with giving that a try -

I’d like to see Elko pick his guy at OC. Petrino may be ok but Mike needs to have THE guy he wants.

I think if you hire a head coach, he should be allowed to be the head coach and pick his guys to start off with.

Excited for Elko
Need to let him do things his way. It’s his arse on the line if it doesn’t work so if we’re bringing him back to run the show he needs to be allowed full control and complete financial backing to make his hires

Going to be fascinating to see who we hire as OC. I don't want his guy at Duke but it has to be encouraging they run a very modern spread offense from a philosophy standpoint. Back Elko with a big budget for the OC spot and let him get who he wants.

Just a hypothetical - but if we didn’t have Petrino, and that’s who he brought in, how would you feel?

I do not want to retain Petrino if that's what you're asking. I'm not sure why there's a segment of our fanbase who does

He’s led three different programs to their most-successful records in decades - based mostly in the ability to put up a ton of points on offense.
Mixing him in with D-minded Elko and Robinson seems like a good idea.

What about Holgerson for OC? Texas ties good offensive mind… might bring Kingsbury back to be an analyst or coach???

The contrast between our last two hires is interesting. With Jimbo we had the Aggie band out there, maroon carpet, tons of press. Elko shows up in the middle of the night at 2am with just a few reporters around.

Holgo hasn’t called plays in years and his UH offenses really weren’t all that great the last couple seasons.

Throw money at Washington's OC right now.

DeBoer's right hand man already got a competitive salary bump last year, don't see any chance of him leaving at this point for a lateral move.
Will Stein at Oregon, Brennan Marion at UNLV would be much more likely candidates that have a lot of promise

I’d love to get Kirby Moore from Mizzou

Happened to spend time under Deboer and Grubb at Fresno State as well.

What a crazy month
Fire Jimbo and wind up with Elko all before conference championship games are even played
You’ve got to give the power people credit for expediency regardless of the drama in last 48 hours
This class will remain a good one, transfers will be minimal and we should hit the ground running next season

Looks like Elko is bringing his S&C guy.
Maybe some guys to check out in the portal from Duke:

Staff changes
Monday, Nov. 27
David Feeley: Feeley, who has been the associate director of sports performance and director of football sports performance in Durham during Elko’s tenure, is reportedly following his boss to College Station, Texas. He was well-regarded during his time at Duke for his transformation of the roster physically, with the Blue Devils constantly outmuscling teams up front. Before his time with Duke, Feeley spent time at Miami, where he was responsible for having the all-time best roster availability for an entire season in program history.

Transfers out
Monday, Nov. 27
CB Jaden Watkins: The redshirt freshman was the first Blue Devil to enter the portal after Elko’s departure. Watkins has not played in a game yet, after switching from wide receiver to cornerback after his redshirt season. He came into Durham as a three-star prospect hailing from Asheville, N.C.
DT Aeneas Peebles: Peebles becomes the first major contributor to depart Durham, announcing on X Monday that he will be entering the transfer portal as a graduate transfer. The senior was a constant factor in a deep defensive line room this season, racking up 44 tackles, five tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. The Raleigh native ends his career as a Blue Devil having played 841 career snaps.

And players and recruits are seemingly very happy with the Elko hire
We pour money out on E Rob and we may get out of this unscathed
Not counting jimbos buyout
