It's hard to now exactly what we have when Fisher rarely gives the backups much PT. Even in the few blowouts we've had under Jimbo it's been common for Mond to play into the 4th quarter.

The next few weeks will be ugly. I don't expect Mond to be starting QB after we get pasted by the next few opponents. If I had to guess, our QB doesn't really care at this point, and it is going to show in his play. As he is routinely criticized by those around him, he will draw in on himself and start lashing out at everyone else. By the fifth game the season will be completely lost, and Fisher will start prepping for the future

I mean, let's be realistic. Mond will never play another down of football after the next few games. He has no NFL future at all

I doubt we score much at all this weekend. Here's hoping the defense can at least keep it respectable

I think its pretty clear that he's simply the best we've got and so he's going to start. I think its insane to suggest that you give one of these other guys a try and see if they do better.

So an assessment has been made the Mond is simply the best there is. And then nobody else gets a shot. This downplays the heart aspect of play that one can show when put in the situation and perhaps unpredictably. That's my point about Mississippi State if they have a stellar year (TBD). It was a change of coaching staff and perhaps a graduate transfer at QB and THEN it's up to the heart and minds of all those other players to get out and compete. I honestly think this is the intangible that may be lacking in our team. You know the reason why we've been called soft. Hence they never look to be quite prepared enough to start the season or to show the "spark" in the big game. You know the "spark" that Manziel and Swope showed in 2012. I'm talking about the spark seen when competing with Clemson the first time about two years back (yeah, Mond had it then). We may not win against a better team but we don't need to get thumped either.

The offensive philosophy is just as big a problem as Mond. It's not built to come back if they get down a couple scores. It's so slow and plodding that if we aren't able to overpower the opponent early on we're fricked.

I prefer King over Mond. Bad int but he’s got it

WR didn't exactly do very much to fight for the ball on that pick. At least King is willing to run when there space in front of him.

Now we know why Kellen was starting. Calzada doesn’t have it. I don’t blame him for not starting a TF with no spring or fall ball. Want to see King get as many reps as possible now.

Wait b/c he threw an INT on a fade where the WR let the DB bully him he doesn't have "it" but Mond has more "it" when he threw a pick 6 that pretty much ended the game?

I really hope Mond falls short of Jerrod's career record.

It will take a few more losses for the truth to sink in. Mond is and will always be mediocre. He's afraid to throw it down the field, and has happy feet. This season is a waste anyway, so might as well get King some experience. If he plays all year this year, think how much experience he will have at the start of next year

If you don't think this team has serious internal issues you aren't reading the tea leaves

This team has "let WRs run right past you whenever they want to" issues

There are issues in the locker room according to several people I trust. I'm seeing the same message in other places too, so I think there is some truth to those rumors.

If Florida blows us out as well, I'd start worrying.

What issues? That they don’t trust Mond as QB?

Issues, plural or one big issue wearing #11?

If Mond is benched before the fifth game can he opt out and graduate transfer elsewhere?

They don't trust Mond at QB. Mond truly thinks he is untouchable, and acts accordingly. Think JFF, but with no actual talent to back it up. Fisher is in danger of losing the locker room ...

It will get worse after the two upcoming blowouts. More than that, the pressure from the money men to bench Mond is rising quickly. I don't put a lot of stock in rumors but this one appears to have some legs

So you say we will lose by blowout to Florida and Miss State. Losing by blowout to Miss State is proof the coaching staff is not up to snuff. It could mean other things but it certainly shines a bad light on coaching. As I’ve posted we’ve supposedly kicked their tails in recruiting for five years. Proves there’s more to it than that. But I must remain calm. We have not lost to Miss State yet. Or Florida.
