Coker was his OC at FSU and, oh yeah, the guy who landed Firkds for Georgia

Coley* & Fields* (right?)

247 shows Dell (RB coach) was Fields' recruiter.

Dell was Field's recruiter, because it was his territory. Coley is an amazing recruiter, especially South Florida, but he had nothing to do with Fields.

Coley is still in play as of this moment. He was on campus today with Craig, but he left without accepting the job. Probably reasonable, since he may have others to discuss the move with. But regardless he is not a done deal yet. Supposedly UGA has tentatively gone forward with bowl prep. assuming he will be gone.

Craig is done and on board.

Price is done and on board.

And I have to assume Banks is done and on board.

There are literally reports of Brewster in multiple cities since the conference championship games, but no one has a clue what team he is recruiting for .

Would be a good get for you guys if it works out. Most of us kinda figured he'd be a 1-3 year rental when we got him, given his experience as an OC and only being able to give him the WR gig. He's done a great job with the receivers on the roster (used to be a weakness, now has improved the ones we have and two five stars committed for 19 as well) and of course has been a lights out recruiter in South Florida. I'm sure he'd adapt to Texas just fine. Experience working with Jimbo is a positive. Would be sad to see him go but know that if he's not gone this year, it would be likely next.

This Justin Fields kid must be unreal. Looks like Jimbo made the assessment that keeping Banks and Price would basically keep most of a pretty solid class together. Then he has prioritized going and getting a couple of coaches that he feels give him the best shot to make a run at this QB (Craig and Coley).

Fields is a monster, but I would caution you not to overstate what is happening here. After all, Gunnell will be just as highly rated, and if Fields were to commit we would lose Gunnell. Moreover, everything I have seen indicates Fields is not going to flip from UGA to anywhere. The only reason this is even being discussed is that it seems like his opportunity for PT and his chance at a starting job early on seems highly in question for at least 2 years after he steps on campus. But despite that there are other factors in play as to why he would likely stay.

We aren't going after Craig and Coley to recruit any specific player. We are going after them because they helped to assemble a team that went 27-1 and can recruit on a national scale, with a proven ability to pull kids out of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, etc. These guys are the real deal and would basically be the most elite recruiters that have stepped on campus since maybe Beaty.

I'm not expecting Fields. I have been a Starkle guy from the jump so I feel pretty good about our QB spot regardless. Plus we have Gunnell in the pipeline as you alluded too.

Any sense of the timetable on some of the other guys we are expecting? Robinson? Maybe Jay Graham? Should we expect there to be assistants other than Banks or Price sticking around or is it all external from here?

There is pressure to get a formal announcement on Price, as there are some possible recruits we need to shore up and some possible commitments that are waiting on that decision.

My guess is we will know for sure about Coley and Brewster by the end of the week (unless Coley's issue is he wants to coach in the playoffs, then there may be some delay), and out of that group and Price, Banks, and Craig we'll have formal announcements the next Monday.

I doubt we retain any other Sumlin assistants and I doubt Jimbo brings any other FSU assistants with him.

The rest will be cherry picked at random nationially based on whatever criteria Jimbo feels moves the ball forward.

If Brewster falls through, he'll need to find an ace recruiter for our home state aside from Banks/Price. Brewster is a closer and that role will need to be filled if it doesn't work out. My gut says Brewster will be here soon, but he could go to Florida with Mullen.

Looch late night update sounds like Coley situation is looking positive for the Ags.

Coley was in College Station all day today and stayed tonight ... possible details of offer is OC/QBs with Craig coaching receivers ... Coley may stay and coach the playoffs for UGA.

We've got him as coming home, pondering the offer, and possibly receiving a counter.
Due for a recruiting visit today, so we'll see.

Will get back when I hear anything different.

Any word on Mark Hocke, Strength and Conditioning Coach, being retained?

As most know, he worked with Jimbo before coming here and seemed like he did a good job in the weight room and on the sidelines this year. He was always the most amped up coach on the sidelines during games from what I saw.

“Banks, Turner, and Hocke have all been notified their jobs are safe... whether they choose to stay is a different story.”

Someone posted this 2 days ago but nothing to back it up

There would be absolutely zero reasons not to stay. Seems like BS though. Fisher is working with them and can see them at practice. He'll know quickly if he wants to keep them around.

IMO he’s letting them continue to recruit up until the dead period to evaluate them as coaches and utilize them for recruiting instead of wasting these last few days before the dead period with a much smaller staff that could cover less ground

That makes sense, but you really run the risk of them accepting other jobs out of fear they won’t be retained
