I wouldn't mind someone with more Texas ties to combat the negative recruiting.

That’s what Peveto is for. He’s just out of commission right now.

I think it might have something to do with the fact that he's a sensitive fat pussy. And ever since his mom helped him become a part-owner of TA, he started gradually flexing his shriveled nuts on boards that were never any of his business. It also has something to do with the way he randomly permabans people, then posts some internet toughguy bullshite about how you can email him directly if you have any questions, so you email him directly to ask why you were permabanned and he never replies.
Fat sensitive pussy.

Fisher once again closes out his staff with addition of Baylor assistant Elijah Robinson. Outstanding recruiter who did a tremendous job of developing talent for Matt Rhule at Temple.
Posted on 1/27/18 at 12:32 pm to Old Sarge
He had only been at Baylor for a year, was with Rhule at Temple before that, and spent close to 10 years at Penn State.
Bio from Baylor website
Elijah Robinson is in his first season at Baylor after arriving with head coach Matt Rhule following three seasons at Temple. Robinson coaches BU's defensive line.
Robinson coached the defensive line at Temple from 2014 to 2016, the final season with the title of defensive run game coordinator. He mentored six All-AAC selections at Temple, including 2016 honorees Haason Reddick (first team) and Praise Martin-Oguike (second team). The 2016 Owls' rush defense ranked 25th nationally, allowing just 130.4 yards per game, and met team's yearly defensive goal of 40 sacks.
In 2015, Temple recorded 33 sacks, including a season-high 10 in the win against Penn State. Two linemen, defensive tackle Matt Ioannidis and defensive end Nate D. Smith were named first-team All-AAC. Smith led the team with 7.0 sacks for 47 yards, while Ioannidis ranked in the top three for TFLs with 10.5.
Robinson's Temple line led the team to 27 sacks and 79 TFL in 2014, and Ioannidis and defensive end Martin-Oguike were named all-conference. Ioannidis notched 47 tackles and a team-leading 11.0 TFLs while Martin-Oguike's 7.5 sacks were the most by an Owl since 2010.
Prior to Temple, Robinson spent 10 seasons at Penn State as a student-athlete and staff member. The former Nittany Lions defensive tackle had his playing career cut short after suffering a neck injury during spring practice in 2006. He earned his bachelor's degree from PSU in 2008 and spent three years as a graduate assistant -- 2009 with academics and 2010-2011 as defensive graduate assistant -- before earning his master's degree in 2012.
During the final two months of the 2011 season, Robinson served as defensive line coach assisting Larry Johnson. He worked with eventual NFL players Devon Still, Jared Odrick and Aaron Maybin.
His final two seasons at Penn State he served as director of community relations and NFL liaison under head coach Bill O'Brien. In that role he organized scouting visits, orchestrated Pro Day, developed community service initiatives and served as the football team's liaison with admissions, compliance, housing and academics.
The Camden, N.J., native earned All-State and All-South Jersey honors at Woodrow Wilson High School, leading the team to a 15-0 record and a state championship in 2002.

Holy shite we just hired a 32-year-old DL coach
I actually know the interview process was particularly grueling for this position, and this guy was actually a target for Jimbo initially until Montgomery came along, so I guess I'll just defer to it. At least we aren't hiring insurance salesmen.
It could be a meh hire or it could unfold into an outstanding hire for a guy that, even if extremely successful, will likely have to put some time in here before getting a bigger opportunity. It won't be a disaster hire for sure, he's already proven he can coach the DTs well.
And I agree with the sentiment that he is a pretty dang good recruiter, and that is at schools like Baylor (not easy recently) and Temple. If he can continue that success, he will be a star at A&M and will, along with Brewster, Peveto, and Linguist, help completely shut down this state.

Just to give some perspective, this is a guy who in two years was responsible for recruiting two of the top five best recruits in program history at Temple. That includes the best recruit in their history as well as flipping a coveted Florida running back from UCLA (he was a three star on 247 but graded higher by other services).

Could turn out to be gold for us, especially since he will have Terry Price to lean on. I heard that was something that may have been taken into consideration by Robinson as a big plus (as well as Jimbo in deciding to hire someone extremely young like that)
