Ha!

I love how Billy always says that these days.

I’m a millionaire, I just can’t ever show you a bank statement or trading account and I can’t spend the money. I promise though.

Seriously though guys,

Is the wait over today?

This has been the longest assistant coaching search since Mike Sherman tried and failed to hire that Barry Gibb guy and we ended up hiring some 90 year old redneck from an assisted living facility to be DC.

Hopefully this one doesn’t end up that way.

The guy he tried to land before he hired Reggie Herring (who ran away a month later because he was afraid our complete lack of talent would ruin his career) and then settled on crazy Joe Kines.

I could have sworn it was Barry Gibb, but obviously not. Maybe it’s like Joe Gibbs or something? Help a brother out here.

Again, it may not happen but this has been THE guy all along. We're gonna throw the best deal a coordinator has ever seen at him.

In 2001, LSU payed Nick $1.2 million per year to be their head coach. College football has gotten out of control, and we are partly to blame.

for sure, and i think this is what will finally get players paid. the optics of having coaches make that much while players don't get a piece will force the issue i think.

Text I just got from my uncle (same one from OP):

"It's for 5 years, $17 million. He'll have complete autonomy to hire his staff and have direct say in who we target defensively in recruiting. Also comes with land outside of town. He's expected to give LSU a chance to match by the end of this week."

Alleva better work fast to buy up some acreage on the road to Brenham or Navasota, if he is going to match the land part.

$3.4 million is more than several P5 head coaches make.
