Meh. You dont have people from inside the program vocally speak out against you unless you are a real jackass. What happened with the death is what it is, but there were also a bunch of not great things said about how he ran the program at large and you dont get those accusations lightly

No, there really weren't many at all. The big complaints was that his strength coach "fat shamed" people and used homophobic slurs. They made a kid eat candy bars while his teammates worked out, because he wouldn't lose weight.

His whole firing was overblown social media crap that followed in the wake of a terrible tragedy.

He created a toxic environment based on fear and intimidation and allowed a meathead to run wild and ended up getting a kid killed and then had multiple players walk out of a meeting the day he returned from administrative leave and was then promptly fired

I may be more open to him as a DC than Shane but the concerns about the backlash and whether or not hed bring his toxic bullshite over here are not crazy or unfounded

Sounds just like the social media faux outrage talking points that got him fired.

Jimbo has LOTS of options, and he wants Durkin.

The more Xin Pubes spins this the worse it gets.

I maintain that this is the equivalent of Sumlin hiring Mazzone as OC until proven otherwise.

He was alright at Florida but i think it was more him running Muschamp’s defense with Mus heavily involved

He took over a good defense and kept it good. And was gone after one year.

If he's the new DC hire, hopefully he follows the exact same pattern and finds somewhere new to coach in 12 months

It wasn't just good; it was #4 in the nation. Elko never got higher than 9 at Wake, ND, and A&M.

In his 3 years as a DC at a school that didn't run the hurry up, his defense was never worse than 15. In 8 years as DC at Wake, ND, and A&M, Elko only had one defense higher than #20.

I'd rather be wrong because I refuse to believe the hype by Xin Pubes than let down because I believed it.

Good, great, I don't care what exact term is used.

Just do your thing, collect your check, then please go somewhere else

Please elaborate. He looks like a good hire in terms of X's and O's. Concerned about his character. Good article with Muschamp saying he loves DJ. Hard to get a feel for this one.

#100 in total defense this year.

What a terrible hire.

Defensive version of Noel Mazzone. The song repeats itself.

You are accusing him of murder. Why isn't he in prison if he murdered someone? Message boards are a fine place to exaggerate I guess. So carry on.

You're welcome to split hairs. But the fact is that a kid died under his watch.

What Kelly did was worse, but the result was the same.
