Liucci is a sunshine-pumper, we can't deny that. Even some on TexAgs would agree. I'd rather trust the Athletic Department's "most trusted" insider in this situation anyways.
Am I naive? Yes. But a lil' sunshine pumping won't hurt anyone...right? ;)

The offseason is the perfect time for sunshine. I just thought it might something juicy. I'm sure Liucci knows who the first target actually is, but isn't allowed to say anything.

Sunshine pumping is how we end up with massive contracts that have no buy-outs.
I'm not one to tell a man what to do with his money, but our boosters would be better off putting down the kool-aid.

We’d be better off with wholesale change but that won’t happen. It’s going to be a brutal off-season. How brutal will all depend on the OC hire

Hinted at Riley or Longo
Not exactly a very inspiring performance from Longo and UNC tonight.
TCU and Riley were better but that OT goal line sequence was a bit of a head scratcher.

I agree, the TCU qb should have lined up under center instead of shotgun

Not sure where they are coming from, but I guess there are rumors out there that Nick Williams would be a potential staff hire for Deion if he takes the Colorado job
Williams hired as DL coach at Colorado

Deion also coming after Robinson … he wants the recruiters

Deion saw our underwhelming D-line performance and said "I want some of that".

Going back on what Ag_16 posted:

Apparently, Freeze and Auburn are also looking at Longo (according to their pay sites anyways). Seems to be the #1 target for them. After seeing that NC offensive performance yesterday, I'm pretty sure Longo's mind was somewhere else
Riley could be possible, but who knows? Expect the steam to ramp up though, all I can say

Seth Littrell, just fired at UNT, would be a good OC option. He's a lot more proven than most of the other names thrown around, having already built good offenses at Arizona, Indiana and North Carolina and UNT.

I've been laughing at how we are now seriously shopping for an OC, everybody started watching Riley and Longo's games and are making tons of assumptions/evaluations based on just a single game or two and thinking they are experts on their playcalling. Not calling you out specifically, just something I noticed a lot over on texags.
I'll probably be excited whoever we get, even if its not either of those. Anybody has to be better than what we saw this season, right?

Seth Littrell is at the top of the list for me, he has produced multiple top 20 rated offenses in several different locations. Comes out of the Leach tree but has a better running game on average. He was making 1.9 as HC at UNT so money should not be an issue, is Jimbo secure enough to hire a guy that was a somewhat successful HC in recent years? Will Littrell hold out for another HC position? Those are the two big questions.

Hopefully. Honestly, younger is probably better, so even if it's not a big name, we just need someone innovative in general (while remaining fundamentally sound/not inclined to overthink shite a la TCU's goal line playcalls vs. K-State).

Us, USCe, and Auburn are all going after some of the same guys. Longo and Auburn, Mullen and USCe.
I'm thinking it is Riley, IF we are actually talking to him. Liucci doesn't seem able to confirm according to the radio not the boards

My money is on Littrell going to Ohio State and putting together a run of Top 10 offenses

Deion Sanders with an interesting move, hiring a sitting coach out of the MAC to be his OC. Creativity, and not to mention the $$$, to pull off a move like that expands the pool of options.
Really interested to see where Jimbo goes with this move, feels like a true make-or-break moment for his legacy in college football. I'm not sure A&M will give him a shot at hiring another OC if this hire fails, so the odds of him getting fired in an embarrassing fashion go way up if he gets it wrong.

Creativity? Ehh... That's just life in the MAC. Dan Enos left Central Michigan to be the Arkansas OC a few years ago in a similar way.
Lewis was only* making $800k in base salary a year which was the same we were paying Darrell Dickey to sit up in the booth and take notes for Jimbo.
Only 5 MAC coaches are even making a base of at least $1m. Jason Candle (Toledo) is far and away the highest paid at $1.75m; Maurice Linguist (Buffalo), Tim Lester (Western Michigan), Tim Alban (Ohio), and Joe Moorhead (Akron) all make an even $1m; Mike Neu (Ball State), Chris Creighton (Eastern Michigan), Thomas Hammock (Northern Illinois), and Chuck Martin (Miami Ohio) are all at $800k; Scott Loeffler (Bowling Green) brings up the rear at $600k.
6 of the 14 FBS HCs who had a base salary of less than $1m were in the MAC last year. The Sun Belt had 4, CUSA and independents both had 2.
