here's the part of the release that should get your heart beating

quote:

Christensen devised and implemented one of college football's most exciting no-huddle, spread offenses at Mizzou, where he was named the 2007 National Offensive Coordinator of the Year by Rivals.com and was runner-up for the 2007 Frank Broyles Award, honoring the nation's top assistant coach. Missouri played in the Big 12 Championship game in both 2007 and 2008 as the champion of the Big 12 North.

Missouri finished the 2007 season with a No. 4 Associated Press ranking and Christensen's offense ranked No. 5 in the nation in total offense (490.3 yards per game), No. 8 in scoring offense (39.9) and No. 9 in passing offense (314.1).

Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy balloting in 2007, when Christensen's offense scored a school-record 558 points, far surpassing the previous Missouri single-season record of 399 points. Also that season, tight end Martin Rucker and freshman wide receiver Jeremy Maclin were consensus first-team All-America selections, marking the first time Missouri had two consensus in the same season. Senior center Adam Spieker was named a finalist for the Rimington Award, which honors the nation's best center.

In 2008, the Tigers finished fourth in the nation in passing offense (330.4 yards per game), No. 6 in scoring offense (42.2) and No. 8 in total offense (484.1). That season, the Tigers again had two consensus first-team All-Americans in Maclin and tight end Chase Coffman. Coffman also won the 2008 John Mackey Award as the nation's top tight end, while Maclin was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, which honors the nation's top wide receiver.

That would be nice. Don't really think TEs like Cam Clear came here to be be targeted so very little.

Kind of a waste of talent. Not sure if it was him, coaches, or play calling. Really under utilized.

So we can expect an official release on Chavis next week and then a WR coach (plus any defensive coach replacements) three weeks from now

not sure the coaches expected him to just lay down going up against an itty bitty DB on that 4th down play vs Mizzou

Cam was his own worst enemy. He didn't put in the time blocking. He has the build of a LT yet blocked like a 3rd down scat back.

Christensen, no doubt, is a slam dunk hire. Spavital has no choice but to elevate the offense this year now or he's packing his bags.

Great hire! Interesting someone who was a HC, then OC would then take an OLC/RGC position. Unfortunate for him (at least short term), but what a blessing for us to add someone with his pedigree! It would also seem to give us some flexibility -if- something were to happen with Spav. I'm sure he will help our OL/RB talent increase their on field productivity!

I am so glad we don't have to play Mizzou every year anymore. We lucked out with USC.

It would, especially at this late stage, but you gotta wonder why Shoop would take the job. LSU is a great job if you have a reasonable expectation for stability, but anyone looking at the situation would have to see that Miles is living on borrowed time. And you would further have to see that even if you are supremely confident that you can field a great defense, that STILL might not guarantee your future, because it sure didn't for your predecessor.

Maybe they money-whip him, but I don't know why he'd want to leave Penn State. Franklin isn't going anywhere.
