What’s crazy is that we all thought he was going to be so awesome

I remember we were happy because he was supposed to be a great recruiter.
Unfortunately we traded in quality coaching and professionalism with his hire.

I'm all for not practicing in a system that 1) isn't effective and 2) won't be run next season. The practices will reinforce bad habits and make it more challenging for players to adapt to the new system that will be implemented a month after the game. Also, these practices wont be physical or grueling. They'll be all about having a good time and giving players who are headed out one last opportunity to win. Combine that with injury risks and the game may do more damage than good. With that being said, I'm selfishly looking forward to watching another Aggie football game!

Injury?? Players doing stupid stuff on the road ('member Alamo Bowl after Fran was fired)?? Getting embarrassed to a lesser program.
(yes, I said it. They're lesser)

Injury is the only risk. I don’t think that outweighs the extra practices, extra evaluation time for the new coach on both players and assistants, and doing what’s right for your seniors and Kirk

Im genuinely surprised people are against this bowl game.

The system thing is overrated IMO. At the end of the day its football. You throw it, catch it, run it, tackle it. The best way to get better at playing football is to play football. Especially for a young team, the best thing for their development is for them to be involved in preparing to play another game.

All of this.

We are going to be a completely different team next year, so the extra practice won't really matter.
No, no, no. Just no.
The players will mostly be the same, no matter what new schemes are used. Practice is good. Plus I get to scream at my television one more time.
Your post is bad and you should feel bad.

This is a loser’s mentality. The practices will absolutely help. And any chance to get another W is one I want. Wake is a winnable match up. Let’s go get #8.

Several weeks of extra practices for young players is a huge deal

getting a shite ton of practices? positive momentum going forward?

They get as many practices during the bowl as they do in the spring. That’s more reading defenses for our QBs. That’s more tackling, catching, blocking, etc
