Not surprised. Adidas just lost Tennessee and Notre Dame. I knew they would make a push for more teams after they signed Arizona State.

Anyone know what happened to our expiring Adidas contract? I forgot where, but I read we had extended the contract for 1 extra year until the end of the 2014-2015 year.

Not exactly sure, but I do know they contributed a lot of money for our new locker room...meaning I'd guess we're going to stick with them for a while. Overall I like Nike better, but Adidas has treated us very well and has a much better maroon.

Who did Tennessee move to?

They did? I remember reading that they provided some of the displays and interactive set ups in the lobby of the Bright building, but that probably helps them as much as it helps us.

But back to topic:

Not sure if this is connected, but FIU also switched to Adidas a couple of days ago. Seems like they are trying to lock down South Florida and expand their brand in a similar way that Nike did back in the day.

I could very well be wrong, but could have sworn I read they gave a good amount of money.

Will be interesting to see if we stick with Adidas over the next 5 years. I think we enjoy being one of their top programs.

FIFY

For other years, we have been mistreated by them. Their uniforms have always been odd. Their first years were good, but then they got hideous. That Tech-Fit crap they introduced in 08 or 09 was terrible. The uniforms were extremely stretched and it always made our numbers seem out of place. Linemen also looked like they couldnt breathe. They've gotten better in recent years with TechFit and how they implement it, but Michigan just recently opted out of using TechFit and started using pre-TechFit Adidas jerseys. The following is an example of what their stretchy shite looks like and what it did to this poor Indiana player;

My other beef with Adidas is that they always place their logo in the middle of the chest and it overshadows the name of the teams. They've been good about it to us since 2011, but other teams (UCLA, Tennessee, and Wisconsin) haven't been so fortune.

They also use the same sketch pattern for every jersey. They single handedly ruined our throwback uniforms with their sketch pattern on the jersey. Why couldn't we just gotten a flat maroon jersey??? Because Adidas, that's why.

I would much rather have Nike too

I had a business class with a Q&A session with Jason Cook in 2012. I asked about Nike and he pretty much said as long as he's there A&M would be Adidas.

Nike uses the same pattern for everyone and similar stretchy stuff. At least Adidas can get our color right and pimped the shite out of our state logo.

I know that Nike uses the same basic design for all of their teams, but at least it isn't that weird spider web looking pattern. And does getting the right shade of maroon even matter anymore? We seem to be using more alternate inform colors lately so I'm guessing no.

And our state silhouette is used because of our new marketing strategy that was implemented in 2012 by the university, not Adidas (the same strategy that killed the T-star logo that resided on out basketball court pre-2011).

I haven't been able to keep up with all of the troll threads but ran across this one from last May. Maybe one of you professional fisherman can set a hook with it. It may have already been done.

Just read this article that Spencer Nealy will be attending the NRFL (national rugby football league)combine. This is a company attempting to bring a professional rugby competition to the US. Most are skeptical it takes off but who knows.

Me too, but T star needed to die to avoid brand confusion.
