Lol, yeah my dad is with his sisters, and my mom refuses to put her phone on silent/vibrate, so their place is a madhouse of excessively loud dings, notices and Fox News. Fml.

Agreed.
I got Spock’s face painted as a curbside mural instead of the usual Texas A&M last time. The guy who ran the curb painting company said no one ever ordered that before and he was excited that he brought over his best painter and personally supervised.
Problem is all my neighbors thought it was Che and that we were hardcore communists. Just getting the block ATM next time.

That's the thing, I don't live in Austin: I live in Leander. Aka a city full of decent regular folks like yourself that don't see "being weird" as a positive thing. Tons of Aggies, roads named after churches, that sort of place.
So it was less "ooo our neighbor might be a fellow commie" and more "god damn it we move up here only for our neighbor to be a fricking commie! We can't get away!"
The fact that my garage sounded like bongrips and bob marley back then didn't help much. We basically moved in-town to start over lol.
