It really depends on where the season winds up.

If they proceed to get their shite pushed in by 6 of the next 11 teams it won't matter.

But as far as kids there tonight, the party in Austin will definitely be fun and memorable

Realistically, Texas can't finish less than 8-4 if they play like this with their schedule. They have a ton of layups with Kansas, ISU, KSU, etc. if their offense plays this well.

An 8-4 Texas buttfricks an 8-4 A&M in recruiting. Maliciously. We MUST win big now if they have figured it out.

Can't disagree with that but 8-4 is still a very tall order for them. I'm not ready to crown them based on giving up 500yards to a bunch of overrated ND players that had never started a football game before. I'll be patient and see how they do against a proven defense as well.

They don't play a proven defense. TCU got lit up by an FCS team, OU by a mid major and the Big XII in general is a black hole for defense.

Welp, it is what it is

As you said in your new thread, time for Sumlin to earn his 5 mil, or else....

Umm... they lost to an abysmal Iowa State team last year, 24-0.

That said, that fish QB looked really, really good other than the one INT. And Malik frick-You-Malik Jefferson is a year older and better. I think Baylor, TCU, OU definitely take 'em down. Maybe WVU, TT, OSU (who all won last year) beat them. And most likely Cal (Thanks, Spav!). So the pessimistic Aggie is looking at 3 losses. The optimistic Aggie is looking at 7... again.

They're definitely improved but I don't think it's time to tear your hair out yet.

Chad Morris is 1-0 this season. Im telling you, he's going to be a name for any of these Texas openings if/when they happen.

He was definitely at NG. Complimented my roommates Mike Evans jersey lol.

I would imagine he was just here for the game.

Is anyone else confused by he amount of hype from the texas game? mean yeah they won and looked better than last year. But, they did not look great doing it. Watchig that game was like watching a beginner play ncaa football on play station or xbox. Three plays run over an over again (texas) and a lot of diving missed tackles (notre dame). Maybe I'm jaded, but I was not that impressed. I will say that Buchelle surprised me. He looked poised and looked to be a gamer.

Not really all that surprised they are getting hyped for a win vs Notre Dame (possibly the only school consistently more overhyped than them) but I am pretty surprised at how stark of a difference the reaction to their win vs our win against UCLA is in the media.

Morris is a very good coach. SMU is quite the rebuild but he's got them playing and heading in the right direction. Maybe another year before they really show it in W/L and he becomes a sexy hire.

His next job will likely be a power job and whether that is us or not, I think he'll eventually come home to mama. But if I had to guess, he'll be the sexy hire in 2018 after he leads a woeful SMU program to a 8-10 win type season.

If he somehow has SMU in a bowl this season, then follows it up again next year, he'll be the next Herman for sure.
