I'd rather have a receiver who makes circus catches in tight coverage than a receiver who drops balls while wide open.

He lets defenders take the ball away from him in 50/50 balls, especially in the endzone.

Do you really think Speedy Noil would have allowed the Auburn defender to rip the ball out of his hands instead of catching it for a TD?

Speedy wouldn't have had the ball thrown to him bc he would have been completely covered and probably already gave up on the route.

A receiver with questionable hands has a better chance of making a play than a more sure handed receiver with no separation.

We always remember the extreme exceptions: Noil making a big grab, or ratley not making a big play but consistency and the opportunity for production are more important 10x out of 10.

If for some reason sumlin left or was fired, I hate to admit it, but I wouldn't mind going after bert. I'm not sure if there's a precedent for making an in conference and in division move like that, but I wouldn't mind seeing that hire. I imagine he would have a much easier time recruiting in Texas than Arkansas. Only drawback is that we don't have the personnel to run his style so there would probably be a learning curve, but his track record speaks for itself, and he can beat lsu. Just a thought, even Though it's unrealistic.

We would also have to have a cardiologist on staff and available 24/7 because of BBQ, but I imagine that's doable.

Bert + chavis (if you could retain him) seems like a winning combination, especially considering Bert's offense is better for chavis' defense anyway.

I'm keeping track, and this is your second post in 24 hours that I've agreed with. (The other was about Caruso's clutch late play.) That's a total of 3 in the past 2 years. Cut that shite out.

I don't know how anyone in their right mind can consider Ratley a better player than Noil.

i don't think he's a better player, but I think he does a better job at what he's supposed to do. Their season stats were nearly indistinguishable and there's no way that should be the case, injuries or not.

Speedy noil had an incredibly dissapointing year, injuries or not.

It's hard to be comfortable putting a guy out there when you're not sure what you're going to get out of him, or if he'll even be attempting to perform the correct assignment on any given play.

You left out Ratley is apparently also able to abide by team rules and stay healthy. Just always being available will tend to take you a good ways in life.

Speedy is living off a cool nickname and 5 stars from recruiting services.

He needs to step it up big time next year.

He played really well against Auburn, Vandy and LSU. He was blocking especially well.

I'm sure he's collateral damage from the mismanaged offense, but he had 4/30 vs Auburn and 3/21 vs LSU. Not super impressive.
