It's been 3 years since the QB transfer debacle. I never thought in my wildest dreams we would recover from that. It was gloom and doom for the Aggie football program. Thanks Jimbo. And you too $$$$$$ boosters.

Let's wait until we win the bowl and get 9 wins before celebrating.

Win or lose, I think it's clear we're in a really good position. Doesn't guarantee anything, but it's nice to be out from under Sumlin

Sure, it's nice to be away from old issues under Sumlin. But... if we lose... it'll be 8-5 yet again.

I'm not saying there aren't things I've liked but if the end result is the same well...

But you’re talking about the man’s first year at the helm of a program that has had some real problems. 8-5 this year does not equal the 8-5’s of previous years, for multiple reasons.

We still don’t have a QB. If Mond starts next year that’s trouble

He's going to start next year. Not sure why anyone thinks there is a chance he doesn't. We just have to hope he continues to improve.

Good point. Year 1 W/L results are extremely important and predictive of future success

Unless he goes to jail or something horrible happens to him, Mond will be the starter next year.

For the LOLs, or because you seriously believe he’s going to replace Mond?

Because you should be dissuaded from thinking that’s actually going to happen barring injury or arrest.

When Arizona fires him, I think that will be his last power 5 gig. Running off two 5 stars within a week here and now Tate is transferring from over there. Either G5 or coordinator. Or maybe sit on his fat pile of money and ride off into the sunset, that’s probably what I’d do with that much dough.

It mostly amazes me that he still had supporters until the 2017 season. 2014 I was ambivalent, but after 2015 I started really doubting him as a coach and then the QBs leaving pretty much solidified it. After 2016 the 1% doubt I had was erased but people still stood up for him. I guess the UCLA debacle to start 2017 was finally it but it truly amazes me people supported him that long.

You underestimate how many idiots hang on every word of a fat slob with chin pubes who tries to excommunicate anyone even remotely critical of the current coach no matter how overwhelming the evidence is.

He acts that way because his livelihood depends on it. Dude makes a living off of people being hyped up for Aggie Football and news. Its bad for his brand when people doubt and talk shite about the coaches or program. That being said, hes a slime ball.

The 2015 QB debacle rightly shook a lot of people's confidence, but he had just gotten Chavis as DC, which many people hoped would fix the main issue with Sumlin (piss poor defense). The defense did make improvement in 2016 and Sumlin did have some success with a transfer QB in Trevor Knight so I do understand people who were not 100% ready to move on after 2016. Fortunately the 2017 removed all doubt.

There's a BIG difference between "I'm not going to entertain speculation regarding coaching changes" and "You're a bad aggy! You don't deserve to wear your Aggie ring because you disagree with me even though you've probably had a more meaningful impact in a week than I ever will in my life"
