Athens is awesome. Highly recommend going especially that time of year, campus will be beautiful. Went in 2004 aka the Xavier Carter kneeling at the 1 yard line game. Still had a blast.

Planning on going. Can't wait

Got to be on the sidelines for the 2009 Independence Bowl when UGA tore our arse up. Was cold as balls but still had a blast. Got to meet the mascot and the cheerleaders and their fans were cool.

That was the coldest game I’ve been to in one the shittiest stadiums.

Agreed. Think that’s the most recent bowl game of ours I’ve been to unfortunately. What a miserable experience (and outcome).

The only thing worth remembering about that game was it was the day the news on Leach getting fired at Tech came down.

Gonna try and make it to Athens, Clemson and Baton Rouge next year.

Wouldn’t have even thought of scheduling a trip under Sumlin just to see us give up in the second half

The byes break up the season pretty nicely

Texas State
@ Clemson
Lamar
Auburn
(n) Arkansas

We need to be 4-1 going into the 1st bye. Anything less would be disappointing imo.

Alabama
@ Ole Miss
MSU
UTSA

The key to the season could be how well we respond on the road after Bama. Win a very winnable road game and protect home field the rest of the way and Jimbo is right on schedule. This would put us at 7-2, probably top 15 and recruiting should be as good as it was this year, heading into November.

South Carolina
@ Georgia
@ LSU

At that point, taking care of USC gets us to 8 wins and then you have two chances at a marquee win to springboard into hopefully some notable seasons.

The schedule provides a lot of opportunities for attention grabbing wins, and combined with hopefully a decent preseason rank, hopefully our top 5 paid staff can earn their money and find a way to be ranked all season. And put themselves in position to win either of the last two games and get near the top 10 and a spot in either the Sugar Bowl or Cotton Bowl

I'm thinking 9-3 as well. But we beat UGA and stub our toe against LieSU.

Rank ordered by degree of difficulty:

1. @ Clemson
2. Alabama
3. @ Georgia
4. @ LSU
5. Auburn
6. Miss St.
7. @ Ole Miss
8. South Carolina
9. Arkansas
10. UTSA
11. Texas St
12. Lamar

I expect us to win the bottom 8. I guess I could see us winning 1 out of the remaining 4. Even if I don’t think we have a better than 50% chance of any 1 of the games.

Even if we only had a 25% in each game, we'd still have >50% of winning 1.

I could very well see if winning 2 of those. Probably not 3 though.

9-3 would be my guess overall. 8-4 is probably almost as likely. If we get to 10 with a bowl game next year then its a major success.

Why does CFB go by so quickly?

It is by far the hardest offseason to get through.

It's because Thanksgiving is the latest it can possibly be and Labor day is the earliest it can possibly be. Gotta start Labor day weekend and end Thanksgiving. This won't be a normal thing moving forward. Just how the calendar works out this year.

Saturday, Aug. 31 Texas State Kyle Field W

Saturday,Sept. 7 at Clemson Clemson, S.C. L

Saturday, Sept. 14 Lamar Kyle Field W

Saturday,Sept. 21 Auburn* Kyle Field W

Saturday,Sept. 28 vs. Arkansas* Arlington, Texas W

Saturday,Oct. 5 Open

Saturday, Oct. 12 Alabama* Kyle Field L

Saturday, Oct. 19 at Ole Miss* Oxford, Miss. W

Saturday, Oct. 26 Mississippi State* Kyle Field W

Saturday, Nov. 2 UTSA Kyle Field W

Saturday, Nov. 9 Open

Saturday, Nov. 16 South Carolina* Kyle Field L

Saturday, Nov. 23 at Georgia* Athens, Ga. W

Saturday, Nov. 30 at LSU* Baton Rouge,La. W

9-3

We shock UGA in Athens, but lose to South Carolina. We never win after bye and they are due for a W against us.
