Let other teams have the breaks in Hoover. I will take them in a regional or super. We caught a huge one with Davidson a few years back. I think it was the first time we gotten a real break in the postseason.

We need to lock Will Bolt up with a ridiculous contract before anyone else poaches him.

I mean, now that Woodward is gone, it's back to the old ways of negotiating contracts, right?

Does A&M even have a batting coach?

Which is what?

Woodward just found not perfect situations and dumped a boatload of money on them.

Undeserved overpriced contracts after mediocre performances.

Should change the name of the thread to "Road to a Regional ... Again"

Would you prefer to miss regionals like tu, TCU, & Rice?

Yes - at least those teams have actually WON a game in the CWS, and have up and down seasons. Childress is consistently "good" at best, and mediocre at worst

Childress has managed to get to the CWS 2 times in 15 years, and hasn't even won a game when he does get there. He never will either ...

Missing a regional this year has no effect on they did in the past.

My opinion on Childress isn’t all that different from yours. I posted it on the other thread earlier in the year.

He's consistently good to very good but never great. I kind of subscribe to the baseball postseason is random and if he keeps showing up with quality teams then you'll eventually win at a higher level. Mike Martin kind of throws a wrench in that hypothesis. I would be fine with replacing him as long as we're getting a guy on the same level as the last 2 major coaching hires. The difference in this situation is that RC is a better coach in his field than Sumlin or Kennedy.

Also it’s 13 years. This will be #14.

Childress will never be fired ... we both know that. He does "just enough" every year to avoid it. Ironic how his initials are RC. And no, Childress doesn't recruit well enough to ever break the glass ceiling just by getting to Regionals

It won't ever change, because Woodward was the only one willing to actually pull the trigger on mediocrity

Woodward was not going to fire Childress for his performance this year. It's not even a question.

Still believe we'll host?

Need an "L" gif for R.C.

What someone needs to do though is find out who has a restraining order against Ben McDonald, then ensure that individual is at every A&M game he is scheduled to call, making it impossible for him to attend without being arrested.

I hate that we’re stuck with Vandy. I wish WVU was closer but it’s a fine we got sent there. Duke isnt anything special as a 3. Let’s hope WVU pitches Alek game 1

I think we have the best staff in this regional so I would not be surprised if WV changes up their rotation and throws someone down the line in Game 1.

They’re saving Alek. Here is a comment from Hop.

Discussed on another thread....their No. 2 starter threw 163 pitches this weekend including a start yesterday. So you are bringing back a pitcher on four days rest who threw 163 pitches. It's a move not without reasonable risk.

Fordham’s ace has 4 ERA however they do have a starter with 1.21 ERA and another with a 2.6something. I wonder who they’ll throw.
