Must be moved back to the spot of the fumble on all downs if recovered by the offense.

Punishing the defense for a good play like just happened to Mizzou is absurd.

Only on fourth down.

Same thing where a player fumbles into the end zone and another offensive player can score a TD.

I’m watching at a bar with no sound. WTF happened? I saw Arch throw an incomplete pass. They went to review tape/refs under the hood.

Next thing I see, it’s 1 & 10. Arch throwin at the end zone.

Make it make sense.

They never blew the play dead and called it as a fumble. UT coaches yelled at UT WR to recover it and they gained 12 yards on it.

Review showed it likely was an incomplete pass but close and as exp executed, review went in favor of UT and stayed with call on the field.

It has rarely been this obvious that either the league itself sent in the call to make sure UT wins or the refs/review officials are directly in the take.

I thought there was already rules in place that you cannot fumble ball forward especially if not touched by opposing team.

Fumble?! Please. With no sound on, I was pissed pff they were even reviewing it. Griping about how they can’t just review every other play. Can’t hardly watch a game anymore.

If it was a fumble … how’d it get 10 yards downfield? Arch wasn’t running. It came out his hand. HAD to BE an incomplete pass.

Correct.

Under NCAA Rule 7-2-2-a, Exception 2, on fourth down, before a change of team possession:
• The player who fumbled may recover and advance the ball.
• If an offensive teammate recovers it, the ball immediately becomes dead.
• If that teammate recovers beyond the fumble spot, the ball returns to the fumble spot.
• If that teammate recovers behind the fumble spot, the ball stays at the recovery spot.

I agree but Mizzou defender also had to play smart there and pick up the ball. You never trust the officials to do their job and always assume they have screwed up.

Rules need to be changed that incomplete passes aren’t called fumbles.

The closest Mizzou defender tried to intercept the pass, and his forward motion took him out of bounds. After the replay, his arm was moving forward with the follow-through and should have been ruled as an incomplete pass. Why would they overturn a ruling on the field unless it was obvious? Plus you have the other overturned calls.

If the Mizzou defender had picked it up then it would've been ruled an incomplete pass.
