There’s been a lot of misinformation being thrown around that idiots and retards eat up so let me clear it up. LSU has to pay Brian Kelly $800,000 monthly annuity payments until 2031 as per his contract. They have been doing this. The million dollar amounts being thrown out there were lump sum payments that are being negotiated. If you win the powerball you have the option of annuity payments totaling the entire amount over years or a lump sum totaled around half of the actual winning amount. It sort of works the same way because of the calculated value of the dollar over the amount of time. So the argument isn’t whether or not Kelly will be paid it’s how much of a lump sum he will be paid if he chooses to accept the lump sum, which he even said he’d be willing to negotiate it an email that was released.

I don’t have proof but I believe there were some personal life decisions he made that has made this into exactly what it is.
Put it like this if he had more focus on LSU football than that other stuff, he wouldn’t need to fight for this buyout.
