I miss the days of drug tests every few weeks sprung on you at work. At least I didn’t have to worry about druggies in the work environment

We can talk that dont do drugs stuff and we are right. I'll never understand why people ever do it the first time, everyone knows where that road leads to,
But they do. Let's just be real. It hit real close to me years back and I lost a son. There was no Narcan yet.
It doesn't solve the problem. But it saves lives, and if it helps salvage a few kids, I'm all for it.

Im sorry you lost a son. This is what I fear most about my children. It does happen, I just think a lot of parents dont pay attention to their kids anymore these days as teens, and they ignore the signs that their kids are using.
Im sure weve all dabbled in stuff being young, but the stuff out there right now is not the same stuff that was out there 10-15 years ago. They are lacing everything even weed these days.

Full disclosure and will accept the ridicule this place likes to dish…
My youngest daughter - I think 20 at the time - took a Xanax from a friend laced with fent on a trip to Nashville. An hour later she was in an ER getting Narcan. Took four doses, I think. Had to go get her.
Kids do stupid shite. I did you probably did, too. I did acid, Quaaludes, any weed anybody offered. Lucky to be alive really.
I’m fine if this saves lives. Just don’t want opioid-taking to become normalized as long as there’s a remedy in a vending machine.

There’s less coke floating around most campuses now than there was in the 80s or 90s, so that might be true but it’s also not new.

As far as I am concerned, they should take every single son of a bitch that sells distributes finances or has anything to do with this scourge on our society and put a bullet in their brain pan. Top to bottom.
But ultimately no one is to blame but us. We make the choice to use the stuff. There's a first time for everyone. Now there are some exceptions, people that have legitimate injuries or illnesses that cause them to become hooked on opiates. I have sympathy for them.
But the partiers, or the ones succumbing to peer pressure, or whatever else? It's on them.
