This isn’t a mid level manager taking a better position somewhere else this is the CEO telling the shareholders that the CEO has been being lying to them all along about building the brand and bolstering their investments value and taking the technology and the best of the product to the competition. The HC IS the program….like it or not. He is the face, the heart and the soul of the program.
Yes, and even though he eventually committed to Mizzou, a similar scenario is why many fans have soured on Drinkwitz. I understand coaches have the right to shop themselves, but fans will bail when they see a coach flirting. Why give emotional or financial resources to someone who intends to transfer them to another program?
Great post.

He’s going to poach the roster anyways even if he was allowed to coach.

Kiffin’s reputation will never recover from this. Same as Schloss. Doesn’t matter how much you win, you’ll never get your reputation back.
It’s unbelievable Kiffin actually thought they were going to let him stay while accepting a job at a division rival. Now he’s threatening to nuke the team because he didn’t get his way. LSU, you are going to reap what you sow with this hire.

I'm confused. Lane coaching Ole Miss in the CFP gives them the best chance of winning by far.

He’s going to poach … no matter what OM does

I will never understand why Kiffin didnt say "im interested but call me after the season"
It really was that simple. Bama hired Deboer in February I believe. There was absolutely no reason to tank a NC contender.

There's something in his brain that makes him sabotage himself. He's like a drug addict who steals from the only people who try to help him. It's going to be hilarious to see how that manifests itself in Baton Rouge

Damn... hard to tell exactly who the scumbag is, but I can say at least that Ole Miss fans haven't done anything to deserve this bullshite.

If LSU is such an easy place to win why does he need all of ole Miss’ coaches and players??
Lane has to go to lsu to win but needs his entire roster and staff

Kiffin and Orgeron were calling Tennessee players and commits, telling them not to go to class, when he bolted for USC in early 2010.
This is absolutely Kiffin’s MO

It was January, right after the CFP National Championship Game, but your point still remains. A lot of people can blame the current state of the CFB calendar for this but it still amounts to sabotage. What little chance Ole Miss may have had in the CFP is likely gone now due to all of this drama.

If college had the same rules as NFL none of this would be happening.
There in lies the problem. College football will continue to spiral until the NCAA fixes the ludicrous NIL strategy, coach salaries, etc.
Read LK's contract to see why he wants to coach the playoffs and if he is fired, what he get's in return.
His strategy is guided by Jimmy Sexton, the agent of superstar coaches.

Don’t we all love listening to Booger McFarland saying we should allow him to run our program beyond today. What a moron.

What a douche, gonna be a perfect fit in BR.

It’s the rule makers fault or lack thereof.

Coming from the guys who cried and bellyached about Saban at Alabama for years this is hilarious
As Ole Miss is to LSU, you are to Alabama.

Lane just go buddy. You got what you wanted. Show some class here and head to your new employer. Thanks for the historic season and playoff slot, but come on guy you’re 50 and pulling this?
This. An Ole Miss man should coach Ole Miss. An Lane is no longer an Ole Miss man.
