Nebraska fans were called corndogs. At some point an unoriginal Auburn fan said LSU fans smelled like corndogs because with all of the worthless food he had experienced in Alabama, corndogs were all his simple mind could conceive. Probably smelled frying shrimp, trout or oysters, but he could only conjure children's food that hardly anyone in Lousiana actually eats. And the other fans from culinarily bereft states bought it because they knew no better either. So, it's a name born in ignorance and continued through ignorance. You can judge a person's tastes based upon their use of the term.

I can't hate on Ole Miss for the way they tailgate. It's pretty much a given that LSU's tailgating is untouchable insofar as food, drink, gameday excitement, and even the hospitality shown to visiting fans that are invited to share in those awesome spreads, but Ole Miss folks provide a bit of ante bellum elegance that memorializes and celebrates the finer and more sophisticated things of classic southern culture.

I've found it more enjoyable to accept and absorb the cultures and traditions of the home crowd when visiting various stadiums for away games. Favorites will always be Oxford for the elegance of The Grove, and Athens, GA for simply a really neat college town. (Can't fail to mention that probably the best slow-cooked hog on a spit I've ever had was prepared by the good folks of Mississippi State in Starkville.)

Bottom line - The Grove is a pretty neat tradition. No reason to hate on it.

How insecure are you folks where you want to complain about folks relaxing, socializing, and enjoying things they like to eat. Y’all taking this shite way too serious. Football is just a game where folks can be with friends and hang out regardless who you are rooting for.
