This is the quickest I’ve seen a fanbase turn on a head coach. Silverfield out after only 2.75 games?

Judging by the turnout, they turned on him before this game started today.

Universally hated hire from day 1

The only time I've seen a fanbase react more negatively to an announced hire was Schiano

I mean, it’s game three. You guys are stuck with him for at least three years.

All his fault the receivers can’t catch and the qb can’t take a snap.

Arkansas has the slowest trigger finger I've seen on any SEC team besides Vanderbilt, and not even Chad got three years with results like this.

But why? Because it was believed he underachieved at Memphis?

I'm genuinely curious because the coaching carousel last season was obviously hectic. Who would've been an acceptable hire that was a realistic option?

Arkansas fans refuse to give money until they see a winner. It’s completely backwards thinking from any team in this conference

There is not a single program in the conference that would be thrilled hiring a coach from a g5 school that was looking to fire him.

Silverfield has never done anything to make anyone think he's a high level coach. He maintained and slightly regressed the Memphis program, which in the modern era is a pretty easy place to win at. Memphis fans were ready for him to go, by the end of it. About all he did was beat us, which we knew more intimately than anyone else, was not much of an achievement.

The ones I feel confident we could have had -

Eric Morris
Bob Chesney
Bobby Petrino

Golesh if we had a better AD.

It's deeper than this last cycle though. Everyone wanted Pittman fired at the end of 2024. Yurachek flipped the fanbase the bird, then 2 games in to the next season, pulls the trigger on the fire. We would've had more options and less competition at the end of 2024 for the new hire... we also wouldn't have completely wasted a year, and the next coach could have been set up much better.

The revolt by the fanbase is aimed as much at HY as Silverfield but they both need to go.
