The guy couldn't even win the American conference and Memphis has been a decent program for the past 13 years. Has decent NIL funds thanks to FedEx.

It was a dumb hire.

I'm genuinely curious because the coaching carousel last season was obviously hectic. Who would've been an acceptable hire that was a realistic option?

This is the quickest I’ve seen a fanbase turn on a head coach. Silverfield out after only 2.75 games?

No one in the fanbase wanted this hire and they were already fed up with the AD. It's just boiling over because we've been awful for so long.

Don't play into this false diacotamy.

Hunter fired Pittman two years past his expiration date, decided in Memphis last year he was hiring Silverfish, then put on his dog and pony show of a search.

Arkansas was the first SEC job open and the last to fill.

When the backlash resulted, Hunter fell back to his no one wanted the job schitck.

The same AD who admitted he didn't think Arkansas had a shot at hiring Cal from Kentucky.

If he goes 1-11 he won't, he could be gone after the last game.

I didn’t understand the hire. He wasn’t even good at Memphis
