Auburn Football K Alex McPherson was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in the spring of 2024 and had his large intestine removed along with part of his colon. It looked like his football days were done. I remember seeing him and he was barley more than skin & bones. He lost virtually all his strength.

Now here he is two years later, and today he made the game-winning kick to knock off No. 1 Georgia and give Auburn’s season new life.

War Eagle, Alex!

My man has been through hell and came out the other side even stronger.

Couldn't be happier for the kid.

Seeing him get hoisted on his teammates shoulders warmed my heart.

That is what I love most about sports. Young men and women competing and learning life lessons. God is good!

My wife has that. It was hell on her for a while until it went into remission. Really glad to see this player is still kicking arse!
